This is the truth. I’m glad we slayed gender ideology and protected women’s sports in Florida years ago, but just banging that drum every two years is not going to cut it with so many other issues that need to be addressed.
Gov. Ron DeSantis says he knew Republicans were in trouble when he saw them spending hundreds of millions on transgender ads.
DeSantis went to war with Disney over gender ideology in 2022. Even he says Republicans were "fighting in yesterday's battle."
DESANTIS: "I knew Republicans were in trouble when I was reading an overview about what they were running ads on. And they're spending hundreds of millions of dollars across the country on on transgender ads."
"Look, I fought Disney on gender ideology… But that was not the issue motivating voters."
"It was kind of like an attempt to just scare Republicans to vote."
"Republicans… they really were fighting in yesterday's battle."…
Last month, Pew asked Republican voters which issues mattered most.
Their top 5: the economy, immigration, the future of democracy, violent crime, and the size of government.
Transgender issues ranked 15th out of 16.

Knock out the ban on congressional stock trading in the lame duck session. Better to be late in doing the right thing than refuse to do the right thing.
Make sure it applies to the executive branch as well.

The truth will set you free.
🚨 WOW. Gov. Ron DeSantis is GOING OFF right now post-blue tsunami:
"I see the ad, 'so and so voted against releasing the Epstein Files.' I'm like, that's a bad vote. We ran as Republicans saying we need to do that. And you have people in Congress voting against release when the Attorney General said she had all the all this horrific stuff on her desk and that people are gonna be held accountable?!"
"It's untenable when you have people going in trading stocks! I've never traded stocks since I've been in elected office. How do you have no investment acumen, and then all of a sudden get elected to Congress, and then you're outperforming Warren Buffett?"
"I saw how they were running and it was a rejection of what was going on in DC."

NOW: Asked whether he could help rescue the Republican Party, Gov. Ron DeSantis says Florida offers an example but rebuilding will take time.
@GovRonDeSantis: "People need to understand elected officials are supposed to be servants."

Florida leads the way in election integrity thanks in large part to @GovRonDeSantis

Despite the blue tsunami that swept over our country last night, I am proud that Florida remained RED and passed property tax relief. It wouldn't have been possible without Governor @RonDeSantis these past 8 years. He led the charge on election integrity reforms to secure our votes and proved through his actions that conservative leadership delivers results.
DeSantis built up a solid red wall in our formerly purple state, and he appointed conservative leaders like @JamesUthmeierFL , @GovGoneWild , and @AshleyMoodyFL who last night WON all their statewide races in an extremely challenging year for the GOP. Now it's up to all of us to follow in his footsteps and secure the future of Florida as a bastion of sanity.

🚨 GOV. RON DESANTIS JUST NOW: "The question is — why did Florida hold up? Why were we able to hold the line?"
"We've built up a record of ACHIEVEMENT. We've earned trust from a number of our voters, that even in the WORST situation that you can imagine politically, we were able to hold the line and prevent the worse from happening here!"
"But just be clear. We're in a DEEP hole nationally as a result of this election."
To win the Senate in 2028, we need a red tsunami paired with the presidential victory just to tie it up. And even then, strong incumbent Ds holding on might not even get us to 50-50.

Q: “Should republicans look to you as some kind of savior going forward?”
A: “There’s no saviors in politics. Elected officials are supposed to be servants.”

"This is close to an extinction level event for Republicans."
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has a stark assessment of the GOP's devastating midterm losses across the country, but points to Florida as the major exception.
"In January, when everyone in office leaves, who were either term limited or got voted out of the ten largest states in this union, only one state will have Republican control of their state, the state of Florida."

In a crushing election cycle for Republicans across the country, Florida is a stalwart of victory.
Every statewide candidate Gov @RonDeSantis endorsed beat their Democrat opponent outside of recount margins. Governor, Attorney General, Ag Commissioner, CFO, and U.S. Senator.
On top of that, the constitutional amendment he championed for property-tax overhaul—hotly contested by special interest groups and local governments—passed well over the required 60% threshold. This is a generational victory for tax reform that will make Florida the envy of the nation.
Many will now see what we in Florida have long understood: Voters trust him.
The GOAT!
It’s impossible to overstate what @RonDeSantis has done in Florida.
There is nobody like him.

Obviously tonight is and should be about the winning candidates.
But it does deserve mentioning that this new Red Florida we love to call home, the version that still held firm even in the strongest political headwinds AND passed Amendment 3 against all odds, is the house that @RonDeSantis built.
We can’t thank him enough.
