The General Intelligence Service, working with the Internal Security Forces, has dismantled an ISIS cell in Aleppo province that was involved in a series of attacks and assassinations. This follows the arrest, days earlier, of two ISIS-linked suspects in Deir Ezzor who are accused of targeted killings, including that of a defense ministry official.

Syrian Navy special forces entered their fourth day of search operations along the Euphrates near al-Tabqah and Raqqa for people missing after flash floods, recovering one more body. The late October floods swept people and vehicles toward the Euphrates reservoir and partially damaged the al-Salmani bridge on the Aleppo-Raqqa road, while rescuers and divers continue the search despite mud and debris.

Cyprus has begun forcibly returning Syrians whose asylum claims were rejected after all appeals were exhausted, Deputy Migration Minister Nicholas Ioannides said, adding that Cyprus is among the few EU states doing so and that more than 5,000 Syrian claims have been rejected since December 2024. About 6,000 Syrians have left Cyprus voluntarily and more than 6,000 others want to return to Syria, Ioannides said, while announcing more inspections in the coming months to detect irregular residents and combat undeclared work.
