The obsession with making every political conversation about numbers means nothing if those numbers are not accurate. Peter Obi should spend less time trying to impress Nigerians with statistics and more time ensuring that what he says can stand up to verification.

This is a reminder that political communication must go beyond rehearsed figures and dramatic presentations. Nigerians deserve facts, not statistics selected to create a particular impression.

The microphone does not make a statistic correct. Neither does confidence, eloquence or political popularity. Facts remain facts, and they must be verified.
JUST IN: ADC Appeals Court Ruling, Warns INEC Against Taking Further Action Pending Appeal
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has filed an appeal challenging the judgment delivered by the Federal High Court in Abuja on November 5, 2026, over the party's leadership dispute involving Hon. Nafiu Bala Gombe.
The party has also filed an application seeking a stay of execution of the judgment pending the hearing and determination of its appeal by the Court of Appeal.
In a statement issued on Friday, November 6, 2026, by Phrank Shaibu, Director of Media and Strategic Communications of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, the party disclosed that it had formally notified the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of the appeal and its application for a stay of execution.
ADC urged INEC to exercise caution and refrain from taking any action that could affect the matter currently before the Court of Appeal, noting that the court has yet to determine its application for a stay of execution.
The party further called on INEC to respect the judicial process and allow the Court of Appeal to hear and determine the matter without taking steps that could prejudice the proceedings.
According to the statement, ADC said it would explore all legal avenues available to protect its rights, while urging its members and supporters to remain calm, confident and steadfast.
The party also maintained that the court judgment would not mark the end of its political journey, assuring Nigerians that it would continue its political activities and preparations for the 2027 general elections despite the ongoing legal challenges.
ADC reaffirmed its commitment to communicating its political agenda to Nigerians, particularly its proposed policies aimed at reducing the cost of living and improving the welfare of citizens.
The party concluded by expressing confidence in the judicial process and its commitment to pursuing justice through lawful means to protect its rights and Nigerians' democratic right to choose their preferred leaders.

If your argument depends on numbers, make sure the numbers are right. Otherwise, you are not educating the public; you are potentially misleading them.

Peter Obi needs to understand that Nigerians are no longer impressed by statistics simply because they come with confidence. We want evidence, sources and accuracy.

I wish tinubu can accept this fact n allow things go smoothly without using chief judges n state governors to destroy oppositions.

The problem with Peter Obi's statistics is that the confidence is often louder than the evidence. In public discourse, accuracy should matter more than theatrics.
Numbers don't lie, but people can certainly misrepresent them. Every statistic Peter Obi presents should be subjected to proper scrutiny, regardless of how confidently he delivers it.
