This is funny. How many #Mariners fans were bitching up a storm about the hitting coach being hired before the manager!?

Kanz is an outstanding leader and one of the brightest and most ambitious people I’ve gotten to work with. Cannot say enough good things about him.
Mariners fans are going to love him
The Mariners will reportedly hire Jason Kanzler as their next manager, sources tell MLB’s @DKramer_.
I'm hearing that the Seattle #Mariners are working on a contract with OpenAI to provide managerial services for the 2027 season.

"The Turning Tide" rolls in Nov 10. Several retailers have cut the preorder price well below the cover price. Now is a smart time to order a copy.Or, if you can, order from your local independent bookstore. Those booksellers have hand-sold my books for years &I’m grateful to them. admiralstav.com/turning-tide…
It feels like it was a lifetime ago, but one month ago today, we released our 2027 Seattle Mariners offseason plan. Come, see... hardballviahardcore.blogspot…
If that's it, what a load of shit about searching far & wide.
Some of the best prospective options may be busy with the World Series right now.
Mariners are down to two finalists in their manager search — and Joe Espada and Jason Kanzler are scheduled for in-person interviews today and tomorrow.
Decision expected by the end of the week.

Brandon Hyde and Rodney Linares should be on their list as well and probably are.
The Mariners have kept the list of potential managers they're talking to quiet, but a third name has emerged: Cubs director of player development Jason Kanzler.

Classic Soviet negotiating strategy was to make incredibly unreasonable demands and then "settle" for the advantageous strategic advantage they were looking for in the first place.
1. Putin is not interested in negotiating.
2. Putin CANNOT negotiate a fair and equitable settlement because this outcome would be perceived at home as a failure.
3. Like all autocratic dictators, Vladimir Putin cannot be perceived at home as "failing." A failure would quickly bring about a "Qaddafi solution" -- and Putin knows this.
4. Contrary to what Russian disinformation (repeated in the West by useful idiots and those unfamiliar with Russian history), Russia is NOT winning in Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed that he, President Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping meet next month to attempt to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine that would favor Moscow, said people familiar with the discussions. on.wsj.com/4BeZLqz
I MADE HISTORY! HERSTORY!
I created the PROTECT Act, which was reintroduced as the RECLAIM Act and officially signed into California law!
After years of fighting for stronger protections for women and children and founding Foundation RA, this moment means everything to me.
Special thanks to Assemblymembers Rebecca Bauer-Kahan and Diane Dixon for helping make this possible!
This is just the beginning. California today, the world tomorrow!

Every hitter goes through slumps. But can their duration be reduced, or, the depth lessened? A slump-busting journey with Travis Bazzana @TBazzana, and what he learned along the way, for @DrivelineBB:

Have a nice night, Cardinals' fans.
It never ceases to amaze me how ridiculous fans on Twitter/X can be.
Tai Pete had little value with the Mariners following 2 poor seasons in the minors in 2024 & 2025 and was traded.
But a full season later, and good—but not elite—numbers in a 100-PA AA sample dismisses that?

Well, there's another way to look at it...
When you waive a wiener in an attack-dog's face, it's likely going to drool and take the bribe in its mouth—gratefully—becoming an instant lap-dog.
He's arguably doing what he was born to do instinctively.
It’s hard to say why Trump has suddenly gone from attack dog to lap dog on China. Part of the explanation may be that Trump discovered, during last year’s trade war, the high cost of confronting China; like many bullies, he shies away from a fight if he fears getting hurt. wapo.st/4rwZif1
The philosophy is flawed, though. We just saw an offseason that banked on 5 players for 2 platoons between RF & DH, which meant 1 infielder on the bench despite Young being unproven, JPs defense declining rapidly, and a utility as the regular at 3B. Then JP got injured 1/
