This is who AIPAC spent millions to unseat.
It’s more clear than ever: if AIPAC’s blind support for Netanyahu’s regional war was popular, it wouldn't have to spend over $8 million trashing Cori Bush and funneling Republican money to undermine a Democratic primary. #RejectAIPAC

NIAC Action is proud to endorse @ZohranKMamdani for Mayor of New York City – a champion for immigrant justice, peace, and people-powered politics. From expanding legal aid for immigrant families to opposing war with Iran and standing against genocide in Palestine, Zohran represents the future so many in our community believe in. Together, we’re building a fairer, more inclusive, and peaceful New York City. #ZohranForMayor

We anticipate that Iranian nationals, along with others, will once again be banned from receiving visas for travel to the United States with the return of Donald Trump to the Presidency.

🧵Electing leaders that reflect our communities, including the Iranian American community, is crucial to building long term political power and bringing needed change.
This year, a record number of Iranian Americans ran for office and last night, five of them-- all women-- made history by winning their race. Learn more about the winning candidates. niacouncil.org/news/ia-winne…

Once again, we see the same racist, ad hominem attacks used to silence SWANA American voices. It’s disappointing to see lawmakers resort to hate when they can’t engage in meaningful debate.
.@SenJohnKennedy: You support Hamas, do you not?
@AAIUSA's Maya Berry: Hamas is a foreign terrorist organization that I do not support...You asking the executive director of the Arab American Institute that question very much puts the focus on the issue of hate in our country?

Today, we remember Mahsa Jina Amini, who should be celebrating her 25th birthday. Sarina Esmailzadeh should be 18. Kian Pirfalak should be 11.
These young lives, and the hundreds lost during the #WomanLifeFreedom protests will never be forgotten. Despite the pain and injustice, Iranian women continue to bravely defy oppressive laws, challenging Iran’s mandatory dress codes and fighting for their right to self-determination. We stand with them and support their fight for justice, liberty, and equality.

Maximum pressure sanctions have disproportionately affected ordinary Iranians, driving many into poverty, while the Iranian government has remained largely unaffected. #NoSanctions

September 11th was a national tragedy that forever changed the fabric of our country. Thousands of innocent lives were lost, leaving an indelible mark on our collective memory.
Unfortunately, instead of unifying, communities like ours were scapegoated. National security measures led to civil liberty crackdowns, fueling xenophobia and racial profiling, especially against Middle Eastern and Muslim communities.
As we honor this solemn anniversary, we redouble our commitment to defending civil rights, advancing peace, and ensuring our communities are protected, heard, and represented.

The Biden administration entered office in 2021 with a clear mandate on Iran: Joe Biden had run in opposition to the Trump administration’s scuttling of the 2015 nuclear deal, vowing to restore the agreement.
However, by failing to rejoin the deal decisively, Iran’s nuclear program advanced, tensions escalated, Iran has grown more repressive, and Trump continues to attack Biden and Harris as "too soft" on Iran.
Harris shouldn’t try to out-hawk Trump on Iran. Attacking him for not being hawkish enough risks alienating anti-war voters.
Instead, she should focus on Trump’s reckless policies, which ended crucial restraints on Iran’s nuclear program and worsened the situation, while highlighting the need for diplomacy.
Harris must differentiate her approach by calling for serious negotiations with Iran, not endless sanctions or saber-rattling.
The vast majority of Americans don’t want war, and Harris can win by being smarter about addressing security threats through diplomacy, not military might.

Aysenur Ezgi Eygi should be alive today.
Instead, she was shot in the head and killed by the IDF while protesting Israel’s illegal occupation of the West Bank.
She was an American citizen. There must be accountability and a thorough, independent investigation.

NIAC joined leading human rights organizations – including @CivCenter, @amnesty, @FCNL, @hrw, and others – to demand an immediate suspension of lethal U.S. arms transfers to Israel in light of repeated violations of both international and U.S. law.
The U.S. has continued to provide military assistance to the Israeli government despite the catastrophic impact of these weapons on civilians in the occupied Gaza Strip and West Bank.

Harris shouldn’t try to out-hawk Trump on Iran. She should recount how Trump’s sanctions and diplomatic sabotage delivered failure after failure, while signaling her intent to return to Obama’s successful diplomacy:
NEW @RyeCostello : On point after point, Trump delivered a legacy of failure via maximum pressure, which needs to be called out. Can Harris do that, given Biden's own failures on Iran? responsiblestatecraft.org/tr…

Efforts to ban people from traveling on Iran Air to and from Europe will hurt ordinary Iranians and the diaspora. The U.S. should be focused on diplomacy that pulls Iran away from Russia’s orbit rather than doubling down on a sanctions strategy that helped get us into this mess in the first place.
