Do people here know that ponentes (the one writing the decision) are selected at random and that they don't decide unilaterally but their division votes on it? And in this case all but one, including Zalameda, were Duterte appointees? Of course not, because people here are idiots
WHOA!!!! Parang may mali dito if this person becomes the next SC chief justice. If he is appointed, this will look like a reward for the acquittal/reversal. All eyes on this!

Understand how the narrative works. Ahead of Brazil’s election, they were gearing up to blame Meta if Lula lost. Now that he’s been declared the winner, we’re hearing about the brilliant use of WhatsApp (Meta) that helped deliver his victory. When Obama won in 2012, they celebrated his shrewd use of Facebook, voter data and microtargeting. When Brexit happened and Trump won in 2016, we got the Cambridge Analytica moral panic. When the left wins, it’s brilliant digital campaigning. When the right wins, it’s social media manipulation undermining democracy.

From POGOs to scam hubs EYES WIDE OPEN - @eyesgonzales The Philippines may have banned offshore gaming, but it doesn’t mean that the people behind it, especially the Chinese, are no longer around. Perhaps this is one negative result of the ban—an iteration, or rebirth, that was a lot worse. Aside from scams, another concern that has emerged in the wake of the POGO ban is the so-called Philippine Inland Gaming Operators (PIGOs), which offer online gaming targeting players in the Philippines. It’s ironic, said property consultant David Leechiu, that while the Philippines banned POGOs—which target overseas players—it allows PIGOs, which have, unfortunately, hooked Filipinos on online gambling. tinyurl.com/u88bex9t

Noooo! We must give all of this up because the trees and the mountains and the birds. We have plenty of resources in some cave somewhere, there's no need to gather any more resources to continue this, especially the semiconductors. :(
Underrated good news in the Philippines: - exports rose 27.8% from last yesr reaching all time high. Mainly focused on electronics. - We amazingly stumbled into a high growth industry (semiconductors) at the right time and correctly shifting to higher value chip design.

This. Even if anti-corruption laws are made with good intentions, it's like applying a band-aid to a cancer cell. CuUnjieng put this well in his talks regarding Pax Silica. You want to minimize corruption? The answer is economic prosperity.
"Kung walang korap, walang mahirap" is catchy but it's just not true. Officials in other countries (e.g. China, Korea, Eastern Europe) are corrupt as fuck but their countries developed anyway, because they understood that more wealth = more money to steal

This is insane. Japan just detained a Palestinian comedian for coming to see the country and do a small show with his friends. Absolutely shameful.

If you're a young Filipino rightist, what you're supposed to do is get good grades, graduate from a good school, join our government (especially our security services, foreign service, economic agencies), start a business and succeed, then slowly replace our elite with a new one
Our leftists want armed mass revolution because it's an excuse to not do anything except LARP and have performative feel-good protests, it's like waiting for the eschaton/the Rapture/the Second Coming but for politics
