So they pay you a $150K salary just to be a middleman between Claude and your boss?
crazy if true.
intelligence means two entirely different things these days lol
Breaking News: A Chinese businesswoman who had a close relationship with Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, was found to be passing intelligence to Beijing. nyti.ms/3Ukob1t
every product i use should just be a headless mcp, that feeds into an agent, where i never have to think about anything underneath.
except for our product, of course.
in our product, customers love the ui and love us very much.
we're special that way.
there's few people betting on opensource models more than us
but it's important to be realistic about where they are and the demand for them
there's a big gap still. they are fulfilling an interesting spot in the market but too many people are acting like they're on the verge of killing frontier

Open weights models fall further behind in v5. The leader, Kimi K3.1 Pro (weights not yet released), scores 46, 12 points behind the leader, compared with a 3-point gap in v4.3. Of models with released weights, DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017 (max) and GLM-5.3 (max) score highest at 32, and Claude Haiku 5.5 (max) outscores all of them.
The gap is widest on HLE-Diamond and Terminal-Bench-Science, where Kimi K3.1 Pro scores 37% and 34%, compared with 68% for Claude Opus 5.5 (max) and 63% for GPT-6 Astra (max).

The coding interview is dead, at least for my team at Anthropic. I've seen enough to know that it no longer provides signal. I removed it from loops this month.
I have a spicy, optimistic take - I think there's an opportunity for junior engineers: felixrieseberg.com/hunger-be…
the maxed out Mac Studio in India will cost you ~36 lacs - the price you usually pay to buy two reasonably good cars from here.
just wow.
i can also see around me that those bitter about AI and not adapting to the new world have had a challenging last few months.
I'm starting to sense a divide in the tech industry:
- People thriving on autonomy who are reinventing how they work and what tools they use with AI: LOTS of work, but they're enjoying it and getting very efficient
- People used to being mentored / trained / or simply told what to do and how. Frustrated with the lack of guidance from management on what to do with AI; also frustrated by seeing some of their peers thriving; increasingly bitter about AI and the state of the industry, as a whole
Neither group seems to be aware that there's another group, or have empathy for the other group

The biggest moat any company can have in 2026 is a marketing + creative team that is culturally tapped in.

video creation and game making are going to become widely distributed foundations of knowledge work in the same way doc and deck creation are today
many won’t agree with this but they know deep down it’s true.
Revolut CEO Nik Storonsky: “The US is not that competitive. Europe is even less competitive.”
“China is competitive.”
“China is 9/9/6. Even if you are good in Europe, or in the US, how can you out-compete the people who work 9:00 to 9:00, six days a week?”
“I started in a co-working space with 140 companies. Within 5 years, only 3 companies survived. They all worked on the weekends.”
“Within 10 years, only 2 companies survived out of 140.”
“Working weekends is a must if you want to survive. Purely statistically.”

If your company refers to engineers as the IT department, you have nothing to worry about. You were already breached last week.
