So they polled two New England states, but not the one with a very competitive Senate election...?
Man, in light of the NYT report on Peltola and co.'s push to get the other Dan Sullivan on the ballot, I really hope @The_Real_ASR has one last poll planned.
Yes. Both Parties do this type of shit all the time. People are already voting, gas is $4.82 and diesel is $6.50 in Alaska, Trump is horribly unpopular, and even if it was a truly massive scandal, it has very little time to enter the mainstream consciousness of Alaska.
I'm glad he's pointing it out and making it an issue for voters to think about, he really botched the Crimea annexation and the War in the Donbas. He was way too weak on Russia.
Haley, Haley, Haley, if you are referring to that ad that aired on *Fox News* and *Newsmax* to illustrate to Trump voters that even guys they like *like* AES and/or dislike Rogers. He wasn't endorsed by Carlson nor, to my knowledge, has AES shown any indication of liking Carlson.

CNN: Haley Stevens calls on Abdul El-Sayed to denounce Tucker Carlson
“When you’re propping up Tucker Carlson, that makes a whole lot of people in our Black community feel less safe and targeted.”
God, what a fucking political unicorn he was/is. He's just such a good fucking speaker.
Obama 🔥: "The president wasn't even mad about the Saddam Hussein comparison! That part didn't bother him. But he was very upset about the Cheesecake Factory comments. He took great umbrage. The mobilized a whole of government response to that joke! They told the Treasury Secretary to hold a press conference in front of the Cheesecake Factory. This really happened."

To be clear - THIS cycle, @Senate_Fund spent nearly $500k to secure a Green Party candidate who lives in AZ to run in AK.
And in '24 AK GOP recruited a prisoner w/ no ties to AK and w/ a NY address to run against Peltola. The AK GOP took legal action to keep him on the ballot.
Peltola’s former campaign manager, fired this summer, goes on record to the NYTs to say that the Dems worked to get another Dan Sullivan on the ballot. ...And then subsequently tries to retract her statements.

There is no excuse for Michigan to be so slow at counting votes (or any state other than Alaska). They are a swing state but they don't count fast enough to determine a winner of a close race until 6:00 AM?
Michigan Election Night Preview (8pm, 9pm polls close)
Operations
Michigan counts votes very slowly. Fewer than half of all votes may be reported by midnight, and a substantial number may still be outstanding at 3 a.m. Detroit often does not finish their Election Night reporting until around 9 a.m., and that doesn't even include ballots counted after Election Night in the trail period. Absentee ballots and votes from more Democratic-leaning areas often are counted last, making results in the early morning look more Republican than the final outcome.
It’s crucial to keep this Republican mirage in mind during the early morning hours. Even if El-Sayed trails by 2–3 points at 3 a.m., he could still be favored to win, depending on where the remaining votes are coming from. If they are concentrated in areas that historically report after 3 a.m. as we expect, he would be favored to make up about 3 points. Democratic areas in Wayne, Ingham, Saginaw, Kalamazoo, and Washtenaw counties, along with Flint, often report last. Even at 6 a.m., votes from Detroit and other late-reporting areas could still be outstanding and help El-Sayed gain ground.
Key races
Michigan Senate: Abdul El-Sayed (D) faces Mike Rogers (R). Michigan was Trump+1.4 in 2024. VoteHub rates this race Lean Democratic, favoring El-Sayed to win by 3.3 points. El-Sayed, a progressive, defeated Haley Stevens in a contentious primary. Rogers, a former representative, narrowly lost to Elissa Slotkin in 2024, even as Trump won the state.
Michigan Governor: Jocelyn Benson (D) faces John James (R). Michigan was Trump+1.4 in 2024. VoteHub rates this race Likely Democratic, favoring Benson to win by 8.6 points. Benson is favored to succeed Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer, as Democrats expect the blue environment to help them hang on to the governor’s mansion in a state Trump won. James, a current representative, lost two statewide races in 2018 and 2020 and is hoping for a better result on his third try.
MI-04: Bill Huizenga (R) faces Sean McCann (D). The district was Trump+5.5 in 2024. VoteHub rates this race Tilt Republican, favoring Huizenga to win by 2.2 points. Huizenga has historically been a strong candidate, running more than 6 points ahead of Trump in 2024. However, he faces a challenge in this western Michigan district, which includes Kalamazoo and is likely to vote for Benson at the top of the ticket. He will likely need to outrun James to keep his seat.
MI-07: William Lawrence (D) faces Tom Barrett (R). The district was Trump+1.3 in 2024. VoteHub rates this race Tilt Democratic, favoring Lawrence to win by 2 points. In this district centered on Lansing and the surrounding area, Republican incumbent Tom Barrett is hoping to hold on even as Benson is heavily favored to win it at the top of the ticket. He is hoping that progressive insurgent William Lawrence will prove weak electorally, giving him an opening to win over swing voters. Lawrence, and national progressives, are hoping that a resounding victory in the seat will prove progressives can flip seats from red to blue and run close to the top of the ballot while doing it.
MI-10: Christina Hines (D) faces Mike Bouchard Jr. (R). The district was Trump+6.5 in 2024. VoteHub rates this race Lean Democratic, favoring Hines to win by 2.8 points. Hines is hoping to flip this open seat centered on Macomb County, a working-class suburban area outside Detroit. Our forecast currently has both Benson and Rogers winning the district, meaning the House race may come down to candidate quality.
Jesus fucking Christ. That man is absolute scum and Ramaswamy is a shitheel for bringing this into a major campaign. Hell, just for bringing it up at all.
Amy Acton's long-lost stepsister, the biological daughter of Acton's abusive stepfather, corroborates Amy Acton's story in heartbreaking interview:
"Yes, he raped [my biological sister], and it was more than once... I know they were homeless for a while and living in a tent. All that is definitely true."
What the Democrats did was dirty, but money did not change hands from the Peltola campaign (DSCC operatives actually stressed that point), so it's not illegal.
God, I hope this is true. It would explain Collins' erratic campaign (they really haven't had a coherent message).

I asked some Mass Effect Universe devs about this and this isn't even true. There were same sex romances of course, but no flags in the game which isn't even said in the article itself. Totally misleading headline.

The Polygon headline claims BioWare "was asked to remove LGBTQ flag," but BFM journalist clarifies devs proactively removed a flag resembling (not the actual) Pride flag from a demo to anticipate feedback, not to hide elements.

The question is now will Alaskans care more about this or about $4.82 gas and diesel being $6.50.
SCOOP: Democrats have insisted they have nothing to do with the other Dan Sullivan on Alaska's Senate ballot.
But aides with the Mary Peltola campaign and DSCC were part of a monthslong secret plan to recruit him to run -- as well as other candidates.

Probably an outlier (Cohn even suggested as much), but I do still think Flanagan is favored.

State Navigate seems the most bullish pollster on Bottoms. But the down ballot races will be really interesting. If the Democrats can sweep, they'll have a great bench for future gubernatorial and Senatorial elections.

They are both right. For large corporate ownership of homes isn't really that big of a deal, but people owning second luxury homes is a problem. And Scott is right in that we need more housing.
Gov. Phil Scott and challenger Amanda Janoo have starkly different ideas about what’s driving the state’s housing problems — and how to fix them.
