Am not a 1 issue person…..politix is a multiplicity of issues……. We have to also get into perspective we are subjects in an archaic, patriarchal, capitalistic, adversarial, system…..way behind others. Stuck with a costly King. Lords lording it over us. Not much of a choice.

The headline is misleading, I never even mentioned Andy Burnham… What I did say is repeated faithfully in the article, for those that get that far. Past the Ad wall. I said ignore the hype about blackouts this winter, we have more than enough spare capacity. But we do need to do something about data centres - I suggest we make them responsible for the power they need. Rather than just plug in to what we have. Here’s some numbers - we have 10% spare capacity on the grid right this winter, by 2030 data centres are estimated to be taking 10% of Britain’s power. That’s our margin - gone, unless we build more, or they do. We’re busy enough getting to 100% green on the grid I reckon. express.co.uk/news/politics/…

Part of me wonders how they have the gall. We've been vilified, suspended, lied about. Decades of work and support counted for nothing. And now they want our support. I cannot express how much I loathe @UKLabour
Burnham has laid out a bold vision for Britain. Now, we must turn his vision into action. Socialists are already organising across our movement. But we need you. It’s time for a socialist Labour Party ready to deliver change. Join Labour. Join Momentum mtm.is/join

Not a single new water reservoir has been built since Water Privatisation in 1989, despite UK population growing from 57 million to 69.5 million. Failed state. Westminster betrays its citizens to enrich unaccountable offshore private equity.
Exclusive from @breeallegretti Ministers have been secretly warned that some English reservoirs are at risk of running dry, hitting water supplies to homes in the run-up to Christmas The government’s emergency committee, known as Cobra, is meeting up to twice a week to discuss the situation in the southwest of England and Sussex A secret “reasonable worst-case scenario” was drawn up, anticipating that several reservoirs’ water stocks could fall to 0 per cent — dubbed “day zero” — within weeks Officials warned that without action, supplies to some homes could be affected, along with disruption to the construction of a nuclear power station and operations at a prison Wimbleball reservoir, which supplies more than 400,000 people in Somerset, has 13 per cent of its capacity, while Ardingly, which serves 280,000 customers across West Sussex, is at 17 per cent Ministers battling to avoid reservoirs running dry by Christmas thetimes.com/article/7812e10…

Droughts in winter……how crazy does the climate have to get! The biggest thing we can all do about it? Stop eating meat and dairy. It takes 1,000 litres of drinking water to make just 1 litre of cow milk. Or 50 litres of water to make 1 litre of oat milk. While a quarter pound beef burger uses nearly 2,000 litres of water - two tonnes of water for just over 100 grams of beef burger. A plant based burger of the same size uses 90% less water, around 200 grams for the same sized 100 gram burger… thetimes.com/uk/politics/art…

Class trolling Norway
Left: President Trump insults Norway calling it a sh*thouse country Right: Visit Norway, the tourism board, trolls President Trump, displaying some of their best toilets on their Instagram 😅 My view: Trump chose to insult Norway. Visit Norway answered with humour, confidence and a showcase of its most beautiful loos. That’s how you turn an insult into an invitation. Congratulations to Norway for responding with such grace - and giving us another reason to visit. I've never been to Norway, but this is just another reason to visit 😁

🔴 Today , they released the first edition of the book "Princes and Thieves: Jared Kushner's and Mohammed bin Zayed's Secret Conspiracy to Reshape the Middle East." These are the most important points from its first chapter, where investigative journalist Matthew Cole reveals details of a secret meeting that brought together Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed and Jared Kushner in New York in December 2016, just before Trump's inauguration as president. This chapter outlines how the UAE leadership bypassed the Obama administration to reach directly into the inner circle of the president-elect, leveraging its network of financial and investment ties. Most crucially, the book uncovers what was discussed during the meeting regarding Qatar, Iran, the Muslim Brotherhood, and Israel, along with the priorities that Abu Dhabi wanted the new administration to adopt. It also traces the role Kushner played in opening unconventional channels of communication, and how that meeting, according to the author's account, laid the foundation for a political relationship whose effects extended into subsequent years. 🔷 The book reveals a meeting that brought together Jared Kushner and Mohammed bin Zayed in the presidential suite at the Four Seasons Hotel in Manhattan, after Trump's election victory and before his inauguration. Bin Zayed arrived with a delegation that included dozens of people, among them armed individuals. The meeting came after he decided to cancel a farewell banquet that had been scheduled with President Barack Obama at the White House. 🔷 The Emiratis offered no explanation for canceling his meeting with Obama, and the U.S. administration only learned of his New York visit after the State Department received notifications of his diplomatic travel itinerary. The author describes this action as a clear circumvention of diplomatic norms and a signal of the UAE leadership's shift in focus from the outgoing administration to the personal circle of the president-elect. 🔷 Mohammed bin Zayed enlisted the help of a New York-based hedge fund manager with financial ties to the UAE and a personal friendship with Kushner to arrange the meeting. This serves as an indication of how the UAE uses its investment network to access influential American political figures. 🔷 Kushner informed bin Zayed that the Middle East would be the top priority of the Trump administration's foreign policy, and that he would personally take charge of the diplomatic file on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Trump had selected him to handle these matters despite his lack of traditional diplomatic experience. Meanwhile, bin Zayed laid out his grievances to Kushner about U.S. policy over the previous eight years, viewing Obama's support for the Arab Spring uprisings—particularly the protests that toppled Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak—as a betrayal of a key U.S. strategic ally. He explained that Washington's abandonment of Mubarak had heightened Gulf regimes' concerns about the reliability of American guarantees. 🔷 He further argued that the Obama administration's decision to end the U.S. war in Iraq had created a strategic vacuum that enabled the Islamic State to expand and control vast territories in Iraq and Syria. He presented this outcome as evidence of the weakness in U.S. policy in the region. He also told Kushner that the UAE faces two enemies threatening its existence: the Muslim Brotherhood and Iran. He viewed the first threat as political Islam, while the second stemmed from Iran's regional influence and its network of armed groups linked to Tehran. 🔷 He accused Qatar of providing significant funding to the Muslim Brotherhood and using Al Jazeera to stoke regional tensions and support extremist Islamist currents, according to his narrative. He informed Kushner that he hoped the new U.S. administration would address the Qatari problem. This passage reveals that the Qatar file was already on the table in UAE communications with the Trump in Dec. 2016.

Isrælis have spent decades selling the world one fantasy: They are ALWAYS defending themselves against Arab aggression. Then comes the historical record. Ray McGovern, a 27-year CIA veteran, recalls Menachem Begin's admission that Isræl chose to launch the 1967 war. Begin was no ordinary politician. He commanded the Irgun terrorist organization that bombed the King David Hotel, k!lling 91 people, and later hanged two British sergeants. He went on to lead Likud: the party Netanyahu leads today. JFK used the words “Jewish terrorists.” Albert Einstein went further, signing a warning that compared Begin's political movement to fascist and Nazi parties. From the Irgun to Likud. From Begin to Netanyahu. The names changed. The history remains.
JFK: “Hítler Will Emerge From The Hatred That Surrounds Him Now As One Of The Most Significant Figures Who Ever Lived” CBS: “JFK was Fascinated with Hìtler” But JFK’s own journey shows something deeper. He watched Nązi propaganda build massive followers. He saw Germany move through pretext. He walked through Hìtler’s ruins. Then JFK went to Palestine and called the Ziønist underground: “Jéwish terrorists.” What comes next is the buried history America was never taught: David Ben-Gurion — Isræl’s future first prime minister — and Ziønist leadership backed Haavara Partnership with Nązi Germany. Ziønist terrórist underground later tried to ally with Nazí Germany against Britain. Read the thread: JFK’s diary, Einstein’s warning, Isræl’s secret Dimona nuclear site, and the Isræli spy trail from the Ziónist underground to the White House. 1/7🧵

BBC BROKE EQUALITY LAW AND GOT CAUGHT Carrie Gracie spent 30 years at the @BBC. She spoke fluent Mandarin. She ran the Beijing bureau. She was one of four international editors, two men and two women. Then in 2017 the BBC was forced to publish salary data. Gracie looked at what her male equivalent, the North America editor, was earning. He was on nearly double her salary. She had explicitly said equal pay was a condition of taking the China role. The BBC agreed. Then quietly paid her far less anyway. She asked for equal pay. The BBC offered her a raise that still left her below the men. She turned it down. She resigned from the China post in January 2018 and published an open letter telling the licence fee public exactly what their broadcaster was doing. The BBC then put her through nearly a year of an internal grievance process that went nowhere. It took three meetings with the Director-General and the threat of an employment tribunal before she got a public apology and the backdated pay owed to her. The total came to £361,000. She donated every penny to the Fawcett Society (@fawcettsociety), the gender equality charity. She said the fight was about principle, not the payout. A publicly funded institution, legally obligated to follow equality law, paid women less than men in identical roles, got caught, dragged it out for a year, and only coughed up under threat of a tribunal. That is not a pay oversight. That is a policy. Gracie did not ask for a favour. She asked for what she was owed. The BBC made her fight for it like it was a privilege. I’ve had some criticism for publishing this man’s picture. As I’ve had with similar stories. Apparently, reporting on someone’s publicly stated views and activities is now considered ‘outing’ them. But these men have already ‘outed’ themselves. They’ve published their own names, photographs and details of their activities online. For anyone to see. And when information about their profession or place of work is also publicly available, it hardly takes a detective to join the dots. I haven’t gone digging into their private lives or uncovered some great secret. I’ve reported information they’ve chosen to make public. But here’s the more important point. These are stories of legitimate public interest. In this case, a man publicly announced plans to organise a group to turn up at a parkrun event to give people he calls ‘transphobes’ a fright. In other words, to give women campaigning for fairness in female sport a fright. I recognise he may not be aware that many of these women have already experienced abuse, threats and intimidation. But that doesn’t make his plans any less newsworthy. I also understand this man is employed as a science teacher. Which, if correct, raises further questions about his judgement. As a journalist, my job is to report the facts accurately and give people the opportunity to respond. He was offered the chance to comment. He didn’t take it. Suggesting that legitimate public-interest reporting is somehow unethical is just another way of trying to silence journalists. Are we supposed to anonymise people who have already publicly identified themselves to protect their ‘feelings’? Or simply not report the story? This is how you create a chilling effect on journalism. And that should concern anyone who believes in a free press. The purpose of journalism isn’t to protect people from scrutiny. It’s to report matters of public interest - even when the people involved would rather we didn’t. That’s how a free press works. Read story below 👇

Please remember: The plastic Halloween decorations you're putting out for this one day will be sitting in a landfill for centuries, killing starving wildlife, and washing out into the sea where they will end up choking, terrifying and killing vulnerable marine animals. Please, teach your children to be kind. They'll remember that lesson far longer than any decoration you buy.
