@janekbradley says I got less funny though. Fair, it's hard keeping up the humour when you have to share a room with 8 bottles of drain cleaner 🫣

When Howard Carter was breaking into our tombs and raking about it was a bit annoying as I was asleep, but it can't be worse than having Kate Nevens and Lara Bird show up at your border demanding to be let in

Abject horrors of Transatlantic slavery & the plantation system aren’t diminished by recognising Roman slavery was equally horrific in many circumstances. Claims made here simply aren’t true. It wasn’t all cosy, domestic & respectful!! Working in Roman mines was at least as bad as working on a plantation, slave marriages had no recognition, & children of Roman slaves were sold at will. Why pretend otherwise?

The funny thing about this is that I posted it at the urging and direction of an Israeli friend, who posited that the mere sight of an Irish woman mentioning Israeli democracy and eating Israeli food (the necessity of a laffa in future is noted) would drive Irish Twitter apoplectic.
And so it has! Irish anti-Israel folks: please do keep exposing yourselves and do so with the knowledge that I simply don’t care about your ignorance and hatred anymore. It’s so transparent to everyone outside Ireland and I receive infinitely more support than abuse at this point. Indeed, thank you very much for helping to gain attention to and grow my page, it is much appreciated.

"What's election day like in Israel?"
Oh you know, pretty normal. Probably the same as every other country.

Just delightful videos of Bedouin Israeli voters riding camels to the polls, mostly to vote for Ra'am, an Islamist party with a Jewish #2 that could be the kingmaker in the election's outcome.

Slam Israel all day long but never lose sight of the irony of a guy funded by Qatar criticising the quality of their elections.
"The Most Racist Election in Israel’s History"
If Netanyahu stays, Israel will become a pariah state – so the Israeli establishment is doing everything it can to ensure that he loses. But a Gadi Eisenkot victory won’t help Palestinians either, writes @OborneTweets for Zeteo UK:

The two most beautiful words on Wikipedia. Smallpox was the killer of infants. It was the crippler of those who survived. It was endemic. It was inevitable. Smallpox was, and is no more. Humanity stands triumphant over its carcass.

A Jewish wedding was violently interrupted by a vile Jew hater!
Joseph Nixon, 43, from Mullacreevie, Armagh, Northern Ireland, stormed a Jewish wedding reception at Liverpool's Adelphi Hotel. He unleashed a disgusting, intimidating antisemitic tirade on guests celebrating a family wedding.
He confronted the best man about 'Palestine' & Israel, shouted “you Jewish bastards” entered the reception yelling “Jews are murderers” & “you guys are killing babies”. The hate-filled outburst lasted around eight minutes before his arrest. Jews aren't even allowed to have family celebrations in peace. Daily events of hate in the UK. So sad...

The bomb that kill’s you isn’t the one that you see, it’s the one that you don’t.
I worked on an incredibly busy EOD team in Afghanistan. We would run multiple IEDs a day, often bouncing around our area of operations multiple times in a day.
You get to learn the land pretty well after a while and gain an understanding of what enemy cells own what area. For example, If we went east, it was command-detonated IEDs. If we went south it was pressure plates. If we went north it was cell phones, etc.
We had been to the same area multiple times for pressure plates, when we got a call about an unburied pressure plate on the road. Pretty uncommon, since the whole purpose is to hide the bomb from people so that they don’t see it.
When we got on scene, we parked in a new area. I could see where we had parked a couple of days prior, next to a steep embankment. After spending sometime on the suspect device with the robot, I put on the bombsuit and went down range. The pressure plate on top of the road wasn’t connected to anything.
We then investigated where we had parked a couple of days prior. Sure enough there was a large explosive charge in the ground…meant for me.
I leaned a lot that day. Mainly that I was being watched and had to continue to change up what I was doing; which I did.

At Lancaster House today, as Co-Chair of the Commission on Antisemitism, bringing together leaders from the arts, healthcare, government, business and sport to renew efforts to tackle antisemitism. Huge turnout and some very powerful testimony. Thank you all. Off the back of today @LordJohnMann and I will be formally reviewing Government progress against our recommendations.

One thing that strikes me, having spent more time with elderly people in recent years, is how much has gone into adding banks of scooters and bikes to pick up on the street, but wheelchairs to borrow when out with someone who can walk, but not far, hasn’t become a thing.
