I'm at my desk writing. It's a sunny Saturday morning. Window's open. My local hummingbird is singing 3 feet away. My cat Neptune is on my lap, ka-ka-ka-ing at 3 quail strutting past the window. I have a peach cobbler baking in the oven, its aroma permeating the house. Bliss. 😊

Africanfuturism (one word, not two) is concerned with visions of the future, is interested in technology, leaves the Earth, skews optimistic, is centered on and written by people of African descent and it is rooted first and foremost in Africa. 🌍🤖👽🚀🪐 humblebundle.com/books/afric…

I’m relistening to the audiobook of my novel DEATH OF THE AUTHOR. There a ton of embedded cues in the writing that only I know. One of them calls in a specific Fela song called“Roforofo Fight”. I’m listening to it now. This song goes so hard, 😮‍💨.

I’m also remembering how I based Cross River City 🤖on Biafra. I even mentioned the rising sun right when a character arrives there. Context:“Land of the Rising Sun” is the national anthem of the Republic of Biafra, an Igbo secessionist state that sparked the Nigerian Civil War.

No because the increase of AI has NOT affected MY authorship.

If anything, MY work has trained generative AI (without my consent, a.k.a. as theft). It doesn’t have its own anything. That fact doesn’t affect how I create my own work. I sit down and I write, as I have for decades.
