Of the 52,247 people who have died from COVID-19 in Canada, I've linked 22,137 deaths to 2544 residential care facilities and 256 deaths to workplace COVID-19 infections. That's 2 new deaths and no new facilities added since April 2. docs.google.com/spreadsheets…

An Argentine news channel is reporting an aircraft detained in Misiones (near the 🇧🇷 border) that has Flavio Bolsonaro’s name on the passenger list. Bolsonaro had to surrender his passport by 11am today but didn’t. He is banned from leaving 🇧🇷 in a money-laundering investigation.

I know this is generally how commodities markets work (and housing has become a commodity) but when it’s explained so plainly, it really does have the shape and cadence of a scam

On this "obsession" on Israel ... I dunno @BretStephen_NYT, why did you speak to 1st yr Ryerson j-school students in 2005 about Israel? Why didn't you speak to us about London or Tokyo or Rio? Why was my 1st radio piece ever about suicide bombers in Tel Aviv?
NYT's Bret Stephens whines that Democrats know "Smotrich and Ben-Gvir" but not "the interior minister of Japan." Their "obsession" with Israel drives him "crazy." (Being politically informed on Israel is now anti-Semitic.)

Still wrapping my head around this
THE CEASEFIRE HAS COMMENCED The ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia took effect at 4:00am Moscow time on October 27, 2026.    Timing was accelerated two days ahead of schedule to protect the safety of civilians and to facilitate the delivery of critical humanitarian aid. The ceasefire’s geographic area has expanded beyond Oleshky, within the Kherson Region, to provide safe passage for the humanitarian convoys.       General Valery Vasilyevich, Joint Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces has confirmed.

This kind of journalism is so fucking irritating. If Lachance knows better than CPDQ Infra, show your homework. He needs the tramway to cost more and journalists know this. It's why I wrote this: therover.ca/opinion-are-queb…
L’estimation des coûts du tramway calculée par CDPQ Infra entre autres sur une «moyenne du coût par kilomètre» ne convainc pas le chef de l’opposition municipale de Québec. «On demande l’heure juste», presse Stéphane Lachance. lesoleil.com/actualites/actu…

It's insane that this article has no comment from CPDQ Infra. Ask them! They're the ones who have estimated everything! Talk to them and see if they aren't saying something! All Lachance has to support his popularity is the tramway costs. He isn't a reliable narrator.

Here’s my article on these shootings from June. I genuinely don’t think CBC adds anything new to it, other than acquiring footage of some of the shootings. readthemaple.com/the-zionist…

Today CBC published an article with the headline: “Why a spate of gun-for-hire shootings in Toronto were likely paid for by Iran.” I was intrigued, as there has been almost 0 evidence offered for this claim thus far. Unfortunately this article doesn’t offer any either, adding nothing new. CBC says they spent weeks on the investigation, so these are pretty pitiful results, at least in terms of finding evidence of who paid for the shootings. I’m not sure why they feel comfortable with such a declarative headline given the lack of evidence (other than journalistic standards going out the window when the subject is an Official Enemy country). Also, CBC and other journalists continue platforming police claims that they need backdoor access to messaging apps to solve these shootings, with no push back or critique about how these powers can be abused, including against journalists. cbc.ca/news/investigates/ira…

Major upset in Milton as 89-year-old Gord Krantz has lost. Unreal.
Replying to @AhmarSKhan
#BreakingNews the votes are in and Gord Krantz is on his way out! #MayorMinakakis is on his way in. The split vote took away any lead Gord might have had.

This is the worst thing I have ever seen.
Happy anniversary to The Times They Are a-Changin', the truly cursed Bob Dylan Broadway musical that opened on this date in 2006 (and closed a couple weeks later). For "Like a Rolling Stone," they had the whole cast—wait for it—roll around on stones.

cops: *literally bending over backwards to protect Brad Bradford signs* jesse brown: this should be investigated as a hate crime against me
Toronto police removed Brad Bradford campaign signs from the area in a Jewish Toronto neighbourhood where antizionist protesters rally every weekend. After the protest, cops put the signs back. The woman filming asks: is this not illegal?

If @WabKinew wants to renegotiate new legislation then he will be on the other side of the table. Not on the side of First Nations. He is a premier. He is advocating for First Nations assimilation by pushing for this.
