UNEP-Nairobi Convention's 12th Conference of the Parties (COP) concluded on 9th October with parties reinforcing the Nairobi Convention as the central platform for regional ocean governance.
Parties welcomed the entry into force of the Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ) Agreement and called for a coordinated regional approach to its implementation.
This week, we're are in Tanzania for UNEP-Nairobi Convention's 12th COP. We join the Western Indian Ocean community in celebrating 40 years of the Convention.
