“All that stuff is noise, man. The WNBA is flourishing. Look what these women are doing... The politics they bring into sports nowadays... I do not give a f*ck about that." Kevin Durant on the drama around the WNBA 👀 (via @HoustonRockets)

Jacob is correct here—we really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans! I personally think it is >10% within the next decade. I believe Anthropic is trying its best, but we do not yet have a plan to solve alignment for superintelligence and are not clearly on track to.

Gary Payton says his father would watch him score 40 points and tell him he should’ve scored 60 “The person who really talked about me all the time, who I always wanted to get at, was my father. He always told me I wasn’t nothing.” “Even if I had 40 points, he’d be like, ‘You could’ve had 60. You ain’t doing nothing.’ Then he’d drop me off at the crib, and I’d go in the house thinking, ‘You know what? Next game I’m going to have 56 or 60 on these dudes, then I’m going to see what he says.’” “That was the dude who really put this in me. He really installed that in me… Because the era is different. Because of the way my father treated me growing up, I wanted not to treat my kids the same way. I became somebody, became rich, and gave them too much. I think that was our fault because we gave them a silver spoon.”

Greg Oden says losing basketball helped him find himself “It is enough. Don’t get me wrong, I would love $100,000,000 in the bank account. But right now, we got a beautiful home. My daughter just graduated fourth grade. My wife’s doing her thing.” “When I really had to assess myself, I really started realizing, and I was intentional about this when I retired, trying to figure out who I was. Everything was always about the sport.” “But then when it was taken away from me, who am I? I didn’t even know what I liked. If I take alcohol and partying out of the equation, and basketball, I’m literally a newborn baby again. So I really sat down and figured out, what are some things that I like?” “I had to assess myself, and I realized I was a mentor. I really like doing this. I really like talking. I really like helping the younger generation, or even helping others.” “For the past seven years, I’ve been teaching financial literacy to athletes. I enjoy doing stuff like that.” “Now I’m trying to get in the public speaking space because my story is not a basketball story. It’s a life story.” “I’m fulfilled in everything that I’m doing right now, but I know there’s more to come.”

Every coach, at every level, should show their team this ball movement This is special 🔥

De’Aaron Fox says he sacrificed his game for the betterment of the team "Obviously, I'm not shooting the ball as much. But coming here, I knew that was the way it was going to be. As a player, you sacrifice for the betterment of the team. There are times where I need to take shots or times where I don't take as many shots, but at the end of the day, you need to make the shots that you take," (Via @JeffGSpursZone )
