“Science must always remain connected with purpose. We should use science and technology to solve real problems facing society.” : Vice President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan at the inauguration of advanced scientific instruments and Panjab university Tech Innovation Forum, Panjab University, Chandigarh

The Vice-President of India and Ex-officio Chancellor of Panjab University, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, visited Panjab University, Chandigarh today. Here are some glimpses.

Countries are known by the institutions they nurture. It is institutions that are crucibles of innovation and research. They catalyse big change, they create concepts. Just imagine the power of the alumni of institutions if they act in a structured manner. If they nurture their alma mater, the results will not be geometrical, they will be incremental! #PanjabUniversity @OfficialPU @ADevvrat

The alumni of Panjab University have occupied positions of the President of the country, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the country, of Cabinet Ministers, Secretaries and Cabinet Secretaries, distinct positions in armed forces. They have excelled in journalism, art, culture and sports. But I am here to see their commitment only as alumni of this institution! #PanjabUniversity @OfficialPU @ADevvrat

सुना था बहुत दिनों से अपना चेहरा नहीं देखा, कोई आईना तो दिखा दे। There is a question before all of us: has the rich resource of alumni of this prestigious university exploited its resources, its talent or potential to nurture this institution? I leave this soul searching to all of you. We are at a turning point in our history. We have entered the last quarter of the century of adoption of the Indian Constitution. It is right time for the alumni of this prestigious university to take a call. संकल्प लेकर जाएँगे, संकल्पित होकर जाएँगे, कठोर निर्णय करेंगे हर वर्ष पंजाब यूनिवर्सिटी के लिए योगदान दूँगा। #PanjabUniversity @OfficialPU @ADevvrat

Let us not have partisan approach when it comes to the nation's interest. Let our instinct be fired only by nationalism. We cannot afford in this country to engage into politics at the cost of nationalism or development. I am pained and disturbed that some states have not adopted the National Education Policy 2020. This is inconceivable on any rational ground. This happens because the academia, the intelligentsia and those in journalism don't generate that pressure. #PanjabUniversity @OfficialPU @ADevvrat

As citizens of this country, it is our prime obligation to ensure that we do not allow disorder to be order of the day. We must guard against people who have inimical instincts, intentions, evil design towards our progress. Such forces are powerful because they are fuelled by fiscal power which is very tempting. When people fall prey to it, they forget the nation-first principle for a moment. पर जब आम भारतीय आज शासन कि सकारात्मक नीतियों को अपने पक्ष में मान रहा है, तो यह जरूर सामने आता है कि जो हो रहा है वो और ज्यादा होना चाहिए। #PanjabUniversity @OfficialPU @ADevvrat

Hon'ble Vice-President, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar who is ex-officio Chancellor of Panjab University presided over the Inaugural Session of the 5th Global Alumni Meet 2024 of Panjab University in Chandigarh today. #PanjabUniversity @OfficialPU @ADevvrat @ShekharGupta

Glad to see the New Education Policy, which came after a long gap. Inputs for the visionary policy were given by stakeholders from all walks of life. Education alone can bring about transformation in society and solve its problems. #PanjabUniversity @OfficialPU #NEP
