My dad & grandad were London cabbies. Dad is no longer here but I know exactly where he would have been today, on Westminster Bridge waiting to take our veterans home. Two generations of my family belonged to this trade. I have never been prouder of either of them. There are some debts a nation can never repay but it can always remember whom it owes.

Andy Burnham’s EU "reset" will leave working families with a bill of £1,220.
What will each working family be paying for? Net zero schemes or infrastructure programmes in countries such as Romania & Hungary.
The bill would be £23bn over the 10-year plan. Nobody voted for this.

In the week of Remembrance, the British government told a dozen veterans in Torquay it would stop paying for their homes. The same week it told Parliament it would pay £138 a night for every illegal migrant it puts up in an army camp in Sussex.
The veterans live at Stone Court, where the Royal British Legion found them places this spring. Scott Marshall did a tour of Iraq as a Lance Bombardier and came home with PTSD. Maurice Quinlan, a Navy man, was sleeping in a shelter on the seafront before Stone Court took him in, and his two-year-old daughter stays with him there three nights a week. Their rooms were paid for by the government's own Reducing Veterans' Homelessness programme. A fortnight ago they were told the application to extend it had been turned down. They have until March to find a place to live, or they're out, back on the street again.
Elsewhere, on Saturday night Downing Street put out a press release headed "No one who has served our country should sleep rough on our streets", announcing £8.7 million for that same programme.
You can tell what a government believes by what it finds money for, and for whom. They value undocumented men with thus-far appalling rates of criminal activity who enter the country via invasive means over men who've fought and risked death for us. They value the criminal generally over the law-abiding.
The small boats episode may be the only reason anyone involved in the government of Britain will be remembered in 400 years time - those who began it, those who perpetuated, continued and defended it.
The manifest insanity of it shall soon end. Men who stow into our realm via illegal means will become instant prisoners. Social homes will once again go to citizens, not men from abroad who have an outsized likelihood of making a nil contribution to this country over their lifetime. And we will give our veterans, the most deserving of all those walking among us, dedicated tracks to prosperity and tailored medical care, so that a homecoming from battle will be worth it.
Scott Marshall, who served, has a home until March. The camp at Crowborough will keep the party going for undocumented migrant men until 2030.
This is your Britain this Remembrance Sunday.

What a terrible deal the Government is foisting upon us. Brexit betrayal.
The list of EU riders to the reset deal already looks extensive; costlier cars, subsidised students, keep criminals, higher energy bills, regulatory costs, downgrade animal welfare, suppress growth sectors, lengthy fishing access, big cash payments.
Much of which was explicitly rejected at the EU referendum and every election since. All in order to smooth a tiny proportion of UK exports.
Hard to avoid the view that our government just wants to snub voters and prostrate itself before the EU.

Yes, heavy rains have flooded around 70,000 tents in Gaza.
Hamas leaders, including Yahya Sinwar, admitted digging up irrigation, water and sewage pipes left by Israel after the 2005 Gaza withdrawal (Gush Katif) to build rockets. This included materials for the M-75. Hamas videos show the process; early rockets were often called "sewage pipes with wings."

It's no secret that the UK's welfare system is broken.
But did you know that 75% of constituencies in England receive more in welfare than their workers pay in income tax and National Insurance?
Pauline McNeil #2144 retweeted
England as a whole spends £1.25 in welfare for every £1 of income tax and National Insurance it receives.
For Wales, that number is £1.88.

🚨In case you were wondering: the Taliban leaders send their daughters to fancy schools in Qatar and Pakistan.
“Just for the record do your two daughters go to school?
Head of Taliban Office in Qatar - Of course they do.
This sums it all up. For their own daughters nothing is forbidden while for poor girls living in Afghanistan everything is forbidden.💔

I believe that so-called conversion practices bans are among the most dangerous and pernicious pieces of legislation. They enshrine the concept of the "trans child" in law and impose a model of compulsory affirmation that extends the self-ID delusion to all of society.

This account by @DanNeidle of Russell Brand's use of an injunction to silence (and bankrupt) a woman who accused him of assaulting her is shocking.
She wasn't even allowed to talk about it to the police or to medics other than named individuals.

Great news..new Ebola vaccines being trialled
I wonder if the anti vaxxers would even refuse and Ebola vaccine if there was an outbreak where they live?
Two new Ebola vaccines are going to be trialled in the Democratic Republic of Congo to stop the deadly outbreak which has devastated the country.
More than 10,000 people in the DRC are thought to have been infected with Ebola in the last six months of the outbreak.
