Three big questions on climate finance?👇
1. Where is the money?
2. Who is it helping?
3. Who decides?

Wetlands are not idle land. They are climate infrastructure.
Uganda cannot talk about climate resilience while wetlands disappear.
As Hon. Gen. Kahinda Otafiire asked:
"If you are not a fish, a frog, a hippo, and a crocodile, what are you doing in the wetland?"
My article on the Sovereignty Bill 2026 led to a live discussion yesterday on @ubctvuganda Good Morning Uganda.
Protecting sovereignty shouldn’t mean shrinking civic space. We must get this balance right. #Uganda #SovereigntyBill2026
Safeguarding sovereignty is vital, but regulation must not silence civic voices. Uganda should refine the Bill through dialogue, tiered approvals & transparency — building compliance capacity, not punishment. #Development #Policy #Accountability
The Bill criminalizes foreign support above Shs400m without approval, advocacy not aligned with Cabinet policy, & election activities funded by foreigners. NGOs risk fines up to Shs4bn, while Ugandans working with partners must register as “agents.” #Governance #Transparency
Civil society in Uganda is at a crossroads. NGOs have long powered health, education & accountability where government reach is limited. The Sovereignty Bill 2026 could protect sovereignty — or silence the civic heartbeat. #Uganda #CivilSociety

Colleagues from @anticorruption chapters have shared interesting Case stories of impact. Reflections have also been made on what went well during the project, and what could have been done better. We also took the time to understand the challenges and opportunities presented by our stakeholders in both the public and private sectors.

Habibi, just how CONFUSED is the government @KagutaMuseveni superintends over?!
On the one hand, it pays 53,000,000,000/= to GHOST workers who are either dead, retired, or don't exist - outrightly. Then, somehow, there are 60,000 vacancies the same govt can't fill - including that of Central Bank governor for close to three years now. Yet, there are millions of unemployed Ugandans who can't find jobs - and the same govt pretends it's working hard to find them jobs!
Isn’t this what our neighbours to the west call Dombolo Ya’Solo?!

Fighting corruption often focuses on detecting and punishing the misuse of public office. In a new working paper, we show that it may be substantially easier to improve guardrails against corruption by building capacity among accounting officers.
