1/ @AnthropicAI just held a pre-IPO investor day on October 14.
Q3 revenue hit $16.8B, up roughly 45–46% from the previous quarter, and the company said it reached adjusted profitability.
At the same time, some investors walked out talking about a $1.5T valuation instead of the previously discussed ~$2T.
That combination is worth watching.

It has hundreds of millions of monthly users and tens of millions of paying users, and has been profitable for years. Valuation marks have moved from around $42B down to the mid-$30B range for some investors amid AI cost pressure. 📈
2/ Founded in 2012–13 in Australia by @MelanieCanva , @cliffobrecht and @themaninblue , Canva made professional design simple for non-designers.
It is now adding generative AI features while trying to bring the cost of those features down so the free-to-paid model stays viable at scale.
3/ The company has redomiciled toward the U.S. and hired public-company talent — classic pre-IPO steps. Obrecht has said he assumes a 2027 listing once the AI business-model transition is “bedded in.”

SpaceX Starship reaches a historic milestone.
On September 28, Starship Flight 14 successfully entered low Earth orbit for the first time and deployed 26 Starlink V3 satellites.
Progress continues. @elonmusk said on October 10 that Flight 15 is targeted for the next 4–6 weeks (around mid-November), with plans to attempt the first launch-tower catch of the Ship upper stage — a key step toward full reusability.
At the same time, @SpaceX announced the acquisition of low-band spectrum to advance Starlink Mobile toward becoming a major U.S. mobile carrier. The V3 satellites deployed on Flight 14 are a critical part of this strategy.
