The Heads of Multilateral Development Banks came together for the Group's first-ever meeting in Manila, Philippines.
It was an opportunity to discuss how to deliver greater impact for countries facing mounting challenges, turn shared commitments into action, and work together to scale up financing.

As I welcomed fellow MDB leaders to Manila for the group’s first-ever meeting here, I was encouraged by how much we have achieved together during ADB’s 2026 chairship.
Our partnership is delivering results. We have advanced private capital mobilization, including an updated MDB-wide methodology to measure it, and deepened collaboration on jobs, critical minerals, local currency financing, AI, and other shared priorities.
In an increasingly complex global environment marked by uncertainty, economic pressures, and rapid technological change, our collective action matters more than ever. I am confident we will build on this momentum and deliver even more for the people we serve.

I was pleased to join the Pre-COP31 Leaders' Program in Fiji to help shape the global climate agenda in advance of #COP31 in Antalya. The message from the front lines is urgent: the seas are rising faster than finance can get out the door.
With adaptation finance meeting only 26% of projected annual needs in the Pacific, this gap is our call to action. ADB delivered a record $13.5 billion in climate finance last year, but speed and execution matter, too.
Through our upcoming Pacific Approach, we are tailoring operations to island realities to turn adaptation plans into concrete investments. It is time to mobilize resources, build infrastructure that lasts, and deliver results.
