Russia's war losses may have hit 2.1 million troops with up to 770 thousand killed, according to a new Economist estimate, a sharp jump from its May figure of 280 to 518 thousand dead.
The Economist now puts total casualties at 1.4 to 2.1 million and deaths at 374 to 770 thousand, up from 900 thousand to 1.3 million total and 190 to 350 thousand killed back in July 2025.
Ukraine's General Staff separately puts total Russian casualties at around 1,588,170 as of October 31, with Russia losing an average of 1750 troops a day in October alone.
Ukrainian forces meanwhile advanced 73 square kilometers over the past three months, retaking about half the territory Russia seized this year.

Well, Fellas, apparently defending Ukraine is against X's rules now. 💀
We got slapped with a 7-day ban for our stance on the war. You know, the war where we're literally the soldiers defending our own country.
Anyway, we're back, but the algorithm isn't exactly our fren.

Got a lot of comments that it's just a Halloween costume.
Its a Halloween costume with a patch of russian tank forces, where the fuck did the patch come from ? Walmart?
It's someon deliberately selected russian tank forces patch and put it on their child.
If you don't know russians have a fetish about rolling tanks in other nation capitals.
It's very hard to believe that someone just bought a russian tank forces patch in Walmart together with the costume...
In today's Whitehouse on a Halloween party we a kid wearing a russian military uniform with a modern russian tank forces patch featuring Armata tank.
This is a carefully crafted political message by someone in Trump's inner circle.
This isn't a coincidence.
Troops wearing this patch are currently pillaging and raping Ukrainian children, while their supporters and enablers sends their kids to celebrate Halloween with the USA president.

A father attacked his own son with a tank. And then called him and said: “Son, come over to our side.”
This is the story of 21-year-old Oleksandr, a Bradley infantry fighting vehicle commander with the callsign “Kach.”
He was born in russia. At the age of seven, he moved with his mother to Kramatorsk. He had never seen or known his russian father, who had abandoned the family before Oleksandr was even born.
Oleksandr volunteered to join the Ukrainian military. In his very first battle in 2024, his crew destroyed two russian tanks.
A photograph of their crew spread around the world and eventually reached russian social media.
The russians announced a bounty on every member of the crew, offering especially large rewards for Oleksandr, their commander.
Soon afterward, an enemy tank scored a direct hit on their Bradley. Miraculously, the entire crew survived.
The day after the battle, Oleksandr received a phone call from a russian number.
On the other end of the line was the tank operator who had just fired at them.
It was his father.
“Son, come over to our side,” he said.
His father claimed, “As soon as I found out you were there, I stopped shooting.”
He promised to spare his son’s life and told him to come to a tree line near Robotyne at noon the following week.
“Our guys will let you through. They’ll welcome you as one of their own.”
But Oleksandr refused to betray Ukraine.
“The guys I go into battle with are much more like family to me than a father like that.”
A week later, he connected two facts: on the very day his father called, the russians had published an announcement offering a reward for his crew.
The tank operator simply wanted the money.
The touching story of a father and son reuniting was nothing more than a cheap trap.
Later, Ukrainian intelligence officers told Oleksandr that his father had most likely been killed. His T-90 tank had reportedly struck russian mines near Robotyne and was subsequently finished off by a Ukrainian FPV drone.
Oleksandr did not bother trying to confirm what had happened.
He felt no sympathy for a man who had first tried to kill him and then apparently died inside his burning tank.
Oleksandr explained:
“A father isn’t the one who conceived you. A father is the one who raised you. A father isn’t someone who wants to kill you or hand you over to collect a reward. A father wouldn’t do that. That’s why I cannot consider him my father.”
For Oleksandr, his real family became his crew – the men who would never betray him, who stand shoulder to shoulder in Avdiivka, defending one another and all Ukrainians.
The hunt for “Kach” continues to this day. Whenever the russians hear his callsign over the radio, they direct all available firepower toward his suspected position.
But Oleksandr and his fellow Ukrainian soldiers continue to wreak havoc on the enemy, bringing Ukraine one day closer to victory.

LUXURY BUILT ON UKRAINIAN BLOOD. WHERE DO SANCTIONS END AND BUSINESS BEGIN?
Reports have emerged that Latvia has banned Russian television personality Ksenia Sobchak and her husband, Konstantin Bogomolov, from entering the country.
And you know what my first thought was?
Why are Russian public figures who help normalize Russia’s image during its war of aggression against Ukraine still able to participate in Europe’s glamorous social scene?
Ksenia Sobchak is not just another Russian celebrity. She comes from a family closely connected to Vladimir Putin’s political rise and remains an influential figure in the Russian media landscape.
I personally saw Sobchak in Paris during Fashion Week, around the time of a Chanel show.
And what struck me was the contrast.
While Russia continues its war against Ukraine, Russian celebrities can still appear at prestigious European events as though nothing is happening.
Now, let’s look at the legislation.
The European Union has introduced sanctions restricting the export of luxury goods to Russia.
But these sanctions do not amount to a blanket ban on Russian citizens attending fashion shows, purchasing luxury products in Europe, or participating in European high society.
And that raises a fundamental question:
Is restricting luxury exports to Russia enough if Europe’s luxury industry can simultaneously maintain commercial relationships with wealthy Russian clients?
I’m not claiming that every Russian customer or every fashion house is violating sanctions.
But I want transparency.
I want to know how luxury brands assess sanctions risks, verify the origins of funds, monitor the final destination of their products, and examine their commercial relationships.
And why does reputational accountability so often seem to fall outside legal obligations?
Statements of solidarity with Ukraine mean very little to me unless they are backed by consistent corporate policies and meaningful action.
Because while glamorous fashion shows take place in Paris, Ukrainian families are burying their loved ones, Ukrainian soldiers are defending their country, and civilians are enduring yet another wave of Russian attacks.
I am not calling for collective punishment based on nationality.
I am calling for accountability for specific actions, financial relationships, support for aggression, and deliberate efforts to normalize it.
Luxury must not become a tool for laundering the reputations of those who help Russia maintain its influence and prestige during the war.
And European luxury brands should answer one simple question:
Where do you draw the line between profit and responsibility?
Because no amount of luxury can wash away the blood of Ukrainians.

Would they have invited the Hitler youth to their Ice Hockey tournaments?
Would they have dressed their children in SS uniforms for Halloween?

‼️ @Shelby_Wilder from Kyiv on @NEWSMAX as the channel covers the evacuation from Oleshky:
"Newsmax crew is in Oleshky to be independent observers. But we have to make no mistake to give context to the situation.
Russia is using this humanitarian operation as a propaganda opportunity. Moscow wants to portray itself as the rescuer of civilians in a city that it occupies. One it has destroyed and plunged into this humanitarian crisis. And we need to be clear: Russia controls what we are going to be allowed to see.
Moscow appears to have brought in numerous Russian media compared to just the one American news outlet. Because of that, our team is not is not going to have an unrestricted picture of life under Russian occupation. The people that we could speak to very well could be under duress, and Russian authorities are showing us what they want the world to see. That is essential when we're going to be evaluating the first images and reports that are coming out of Oleshky.
But nonetheless, the fact that civilians are being evacuated and offer this humanitarian aid this is historic. This has been brokered by the White House, and this is a significant point in the war. We're seeing a localized ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine continue to hold to enable this operation to take place. We are again tracking the developments coming out of Oleshky today. All eyes are on this ceasefire, and we will certainly keep you posted."
