"Doctors can't predict everything.
People have babies after complications all the time."
Grace answered:
"And people die from complications, too. I'm the one who would have to carry the pregnancy."
He accused her of using the medical risk as an excuse.
She was devastated.
For months, the argument returned whenever a friend announced a pregnancy or a family member asked when they would have another child.
Eventually, Anthony suggested they explore surrogacy or adoption.
Grace agreed to discuss the possibilities, but she didn't want to commit to either option while their marriage was deteriorating.
Anthony felt she was rejecting every path toward the family he wanted.
Grace felt that her health had become a negotiation.
One night, she found a folder containing information about divorce proceedings on his desk.
She confronted him.
"Are you seriously considering leaving me because I can't safely promise you another child?"
Anthony replied:
"I married someone who wanted a big family. I don't know how to let that dream go."
Grace began crying.
"And I married someone who promised to love me through sickness and health."
Anthony had no answer.
They began couples counseling, but neither could guarantee that they would reach an agreement.
Their son, Noah, noticed the tension.
One evening, he asked his father:
"Dad, if Mommy can't have another baby, are you going to get a new wife?"
Anthony froze.
He had never imagined that his son would interpret the disagreement that way. For the first time, he realized that their argument about a hypothetical second child was already affecting the child they had.
Now I am wondering: If having more children is central to one partner's dream but pregnancy may endanger the other partner's health, can the marriage survive that difference or is Anthony being so inconsiderate?

HE DIVORCED HIS WIFE BECAUSE SHE REFUSED TO HAVE ANOTHER BABY
Anthony and Grace had been married for eight years. They had a six-year-old son, Noah.
Anthony wanted a large family.
Grace had always imagined raising three or four children. Then her second pregnancy ended in a life-threatening complication.
She underwent emergency surgery and spent days recovering in the hospital.
Her doctor later explained that another pregnancy could carry serious risks. The exact risk would depend on her surgical history and current health.
Grace was devastated.
She wanted another child, but she was frightened of what another pregnancy might mean for her health.
Anthony initially supported her.
He attended appointments and promised that their son would be enough. But two years later, his feelings changed. His sister had just welcomed her fourth child.
At family gatherings, Anthony watched his nieces and nephews playing together.
One evening, he told Grace: "I don't want Noah growing up alone."
Grace looked at him.
"He has cousins. Friends. A whole life ahead of him."
"I want another child of my own."
Grace reminded him of the doctor's advice.
Anthony became frustrated and said something that broke her heart....๐๐พ

Nobody talks enough about how expensive peace can be.
Sometimes, peace means losing people you thought would be in your life forever. Sometimes, it means walking away from a relationship you desperately wanted to work. Sometimes, it means disappointing people because you're finally choosing yourself.
And sometimes, peace means accepting that you may never get an apology, an explanation, or the closure you deserve.
You just have to move on.
You have to stop revisiting situations that hurt you, stop explaining yourself to people committed to misunderstanding you, and stop sacrificing your happiness to keep everyone else comfortable.
It's not always easy. Sometimes, you miss people you know you shouldn't go back to.
But I'm learning that missing something doesn't mean it belongs in your life.
These days, I'd rather be misunderstood and at peace than understood by everyone and miserable within myself.
