Well, St. Maximus doesn't say this exactly. He says that creatures subsist in a tropos according to their logoi, but the Logoi themselves do not possess subsistence of their own. They do possess genuine eternal existence and subsistence in the Logos, but not as independent, self-subsistent hypostases. Their eternal "reality" is not equivalent to the actual existence of the created beings that come into being according to them out of nothing. The creature itself, its tropos and its logos are not identical and the creatures themselves do not participate in their logoi as logoi are intentional delimitative uncreated predeterminations.
