this meeting could have been an MCP invoked search of our company’s internal knowledge base that aggregates data from virtually every service we use behind a unified retrieval layer and provides a streamlined interface for extracting critical business insights

“I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo. "So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

So much opportunity to link generative AI with physics based understanding of the world (CFD, FEA, heat transfer analysis etc. ) and link to data about “buildability” to build far exceed human design capabilities and speed. Coupled with things like what @EdwardMehr is doing to build small batch sizes and suddenly the whole physical world can look different!

It's easy to get enamored with any startup trying to advance US Manufacturing.
In reality, most of them haven't done the work to (A) understand the problem they're solving, and (B) minimize the friction of deployment.
Granted, many stagnant industries have been disrupted by outsiders. But attempting to circumvent the legacy system altogether?
That's a long walk off a short pier.

Sign, if it was needed, of the emerging global alignment between the anti-imperialist left, the libertarian alt-right and the PRC party-state, using shared disinformation about Taiwan to argue against the post-WWII liberal international project.

Starfield reminded me when I used to go onto the NASA archives and find all the photos that were never published on the main site because they weren't topical, just hardware bathed in stark orbital light

Love that the 6th Plenum is being conducted like a Papal enclave. We'll know what happened when the white smoke of a resolution on Party history rises from the chimneys of state media.

Very few people realize that there’s a massive tech paradigm switch happening between old-school ML (dare I say “big data”?) and new generation ML (transfer learning). All the tools/platforms/processes will be different from one to the other. – at Manhattan, NY

There are very few people who went toe-to-toe with Bezos, and managed to maneuver him into a draw.
Tony Hsieh, the former CEO of Zappos, was one of them.
So tragic we lost him at a young age due to a fire.
