Watched “Clayface.” I wasn’t familiar with the character from DC, but I enjoyed the film. I’ve always loved the science fiction films of the 1950s and ’60s, particularly those about lonely men who gradually transform into something monstrous through scientific experiments, accidents, clinical trials, and the like. Richard Matheson’s novel “The Shrinking Man” (1956), and films such as “The Fly” (1958) and “4D Man” (1959). The facial disfigurement also reminded me of “Eyes Without a Face” (1959), “The Face of Another” (1966), and “The Skin I Live In” (2011). As a body horror film, “Clayface” will undoubtedly be compared to “The Fly” (1986) and “The Substance” (2024). But this is the story of a method actor who can become anyone through his performances, only to suffer a disfiguring facial injury and eventually gain the extraordinary ability to physically transform into anyone. Whether you see it as the story of a man who takes his revenge and descends into villainy, or as a tragedy, changes the very face of the film. While I was there, I also picked up a reprint of the original theatrical pamphlet for “The Man Who Stole the Sun.”

21 years ago, British journalist Tom Hurndall died after spending 9 months in a coma.
Tom was carrying a Palestinian child out of range of Israeli army gunfire when he was shot in the head.
We will never forget him, nor his vision of a free and independent Palestine.

僕は50-60年代に流行ったSF(科学実験や事故、臨床試験などで、異形に変化しゆく孤独な男たちを描いた)が好きだった。
Bob, we’ve found your press credentials.
Your publicly listed registration is with the International Association of Press Photographers (IAPP), a private, fee-paying membership organisation.
That’s not accreditation from the UK Press Card Authority, and it doesn’t grant immunity from French law.
You also publicly stated that you took to the streets of Paris to promote “remigration”. That’s political campaigning, not simply detached observation.
You may have the right to report, protest and challenge police decisions. But your assertion that French officers acted illegally requires evidence. The legitimacy of seizing your gas mask must also be established.

The French police have just illegally stopped me and my friends, despite us holding press credentials and working as bona fide journalists.
They’ve also seized my gas mask, which I believe is an attempt to obstruct our ability to report freely.
So much for freedom of the press.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Face coverings are prohibited during French demonstrations even on Halloween. Police recognise only official CCIJP journalist cards which facilitate access during protests. The gas mask was seized under this rule. ccijp.fr/la-carte-de-pr… tf1info.fr/justice-faits-… telegraph.co.uk/world-news/202…
