Film is one of the UK’s great success stories - creating jobs and growth at home, and flying the flag for British creativity around the world. Today I’ve introduced new legislation that will put rocket boosters under our incredible independent film sector.

On behalf of movie theatre owners across the country and around the world, congratulations to the entire team behind Oppenheimer on their Academy Award for Best Picture and a total of 7 Oscars. The success of this film reinforces that movies belong in theatres first and foremost.
