It feels to me like the climate may have shifted into some sort of new regime of global heating that scientists don’t yet understand. Because of fossil fuels. And yet the media and everyone keep acting like things are basically fine and leaders keep expanding fossil fuels

People don't understand how hope works. It doesn't come from downplaying scary truths or from false optimism. Everyone sees through that. Instead, it comes from hard work, from solidarity, from courage. Hope comes from joining together and doing something. Hope comes from action.

COP27 is just 48 days away.
That's 48 days until world leaders jet into Egypt to make their climate commitments - and we're confronted, yet again, by denial and delay.
I no longer place my hope in "leaders" who have failed to act with the urgency this crisis demands.

Really important thread to understand that not all EV’s are created equal. EV’s in general are more efficient with a much lower environmental impact than gas-powered. Not the case if the car weighs as much as a tank (like the Hummer EV).
This is @GM's new Hummer EV.
The car is terrible for both road safety and the environment. The Biden administration needs to regulate it, not praise it.
A 🧵 explaining why

Just unbelievable the media's lack of concern about ongoing, intensifying climate and Earth breakdown. It's all around us now. A few years ago I thought for sure, by this point, these levels of flooding and heat, the media would be sounding the alarm loudly, clearly, skillfully.
