Outright condemning of the EagleHills project for a sitting MDP MP would NOT be easy especially with the Chairpersons Gag Order on it. 🎩✊️
Replying to @jubraansf
1) I am against the Eagle Hills Rasmalé deal. Every policy action has costs and benefits. Without clear laws, guidelines, and a cost-benefit analysis, the benefit of the Rasmalé deal is unclear to me. The opportunity cost of Rasmalé deal is a functioning economy, and services built in Thilafushi, Gulhifalhu and Giraavarufalhu.
2) A residency program has the potential to boost the local economy. However, I am against residency programs without adequate governance mechanisms and controls, without which, Maldives risk undue foreign influence in our society and economy. Foreign residency programs should ONLY be considered once adequate governance systems are in place. I do not foresee such governance systems in Maldives in the near to medium future and therefore, we should reject residency programs for foreigners at this time.
The actual people we need 🙌🏻

For months, thalassaemia patients have been struggling to get their essential iron chelation medicines. Every time supplies run out, we are given barely two weeks’ worth and told to wait again. “A shipment is coming.” “It’s on the way.” “It will arrive soon.” Yet the shortages continue.
These are not medicines we take occasionally. We need them every day, for the rest of our lives. We cannot put our illness on hold until the next shipment arrives.
And this is not just a thalassaemia problem. We recognize that medicine shortages are affecting people across the Maldives, especially those living with chronic illnesses who depend on lifelong medication and regular injections.
Patients needing treatment for osteoporosis, hormonal deficiencies, and other complications have also gone eight months or longer without essential medicines. Some manage to secure a month's supply, only to face months of uncertainty again. Interrupting certain treatments can have serious, lasting consequences. This is not merely an inconvenience; it puts people's health at risk.
We understand that establishing a new state pharmaceutical system comes with challenges. But how long can the same excuses continue? State Pharma was meant to ensure access to essential medicines. Patients deserve more than shipment announcements and empty promises. They deserve a system that delivers.
And here's what makes this even harder to accept: Parliament’s Finance Committee reportedly took just 82 minutes to approve MVR 39.5 million in annual pay rises and allowances for senior officials and over 600 island councillors. When it comes to their own salaries and benefits, decisions move fast. When it comes to patients waiting months for essential medicines, suddenly everything takes time.
If MPs cite struggling constituents to justify higher salaries, shouldn't we ask why people must turn to politicians for help with basic healthcare in the first place?
We are not asking for luxuries. We are asking for the medicines our lives and health depend on.
And to those responsible: if you cannot even ensure that people have access to essential medicines, do the country a favor and resign. Go home. If you're not willing to do that, then stop making excuses, get your act together, and do the job you're being paid to do. The public didn't elect you to make promises. They elected you to deliver.
Enough promises. Enough excuses. Patients need their medicines, not another announcement that they're on the way.

We are releasing our politically exposed persons (PEP) database consisting of 15,000+ people.
[🔴] DISCLAIMER:
This has been an ongoing project for more than six months and we have now reached a point where we cannot expand further with only public data.
This is not a comprehensive list of all PEPs in Maldives, and I believe compiling such a list without state/bank resources or unconventional methods is entirely impossible.
There is a huge asterisk looming over the entire list, and that is because family records are not public. We assume a person is family (or extended family) of a direct PEP because they are in the same household. For some households this will NOT be accurate as sometimes non-family members are registered under the same household. However, this assumption we are making is a reasonable heuristic when we look at the broader picture.
We determine affiliate PEPs through two ways: 1) household members, 2) business partners with unique names
We believe this list is reasonably accurate. Being named here is not in any way shape or form an accusation of wrongdoing. If you think you should not be here, please feel free to contact me.

The so-called “opposition” leaders are making noise about the Home Education Bill while silencing grassroots members who speak out against the Ras Malé deal.
The government and opposition leadership appear politically coordinated, publicly disagreeing over individual bills while overlooking a broader agenda that could attract Zionist-linked investors and settlers.
Legislative amendments and proposed laws since 2024 appear designed to establish a legal framework favourable to residence-by-investment programmes marketed by firms such as Henley & Partners. The proposed Penal Code and Home Education bills could also provide legal protections for future non-Muslim settlers in the event of conflicts with Maldivians and facilitate overseas homeschooling arrangements.
The opposition leadership is making noise about individual issues while ignoring the bigger picture fighting over the branches while refusing to question the roots, merely to maintain the appearance of opposition.
