Sorry, but I’ve got to have a small rant here, and I know it's the first race weekend.
Yes, we’re at one of the worst tracks for energy harvesting and recharging, but seeing cars slow down massively halfway down a straight just isn’t F1.
I don’t really have a problem with the chassis rules or the aero (if you look past the active aero). The problem is clearly the PU regs.
A 50/50 or 53/47 split was always going to be difficult once they removed the MGU-H. These cars are energy-starved. They could go much quicker through T9-10, but the PU just doesn’t allow it.
The cars are lighter, more nimble, and generally look nicer to drive than the stiff, low-to-the-ground ground-effect cars from recent seasons. With a different engine split — something like 65/35 or 70/30 — they could’ve been really nice.
Yamaha withdraws from the Qatar GP next weekend, and good on them.
I guess we'll see more teams do the same soon.

"I told them on Thursday, I'm built differently. I'm not the same. You can't compare me to anybody else, and I know inside me I still got more to give, I still got more in me, and that's why I'm still here, giving it absolutely everything."
Good, but it should’ve been a thing last year.
🚨| WITH LAST YEAR'S MEXICO START IN MIND STEWARDS HAVE SET OUT CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS ABOUT TOMORROW'S START.
"Any car leaving the track in these areas and maintaining a position to a car or cars within close proximity behind (as determined by the stewards) may be considered as gaining a lasting advantage..."
Could've used this clarification last season.

Following the recent decision from Haas F1 Team confirming that I will not be participating in this weekend’s Mexico City Grand Prix, I wish to formally address some media reports and speculation surrounding the situation.
Last night, a difference in viewpoints led to a discussion with the parties involved. Whilst I acknowledge that this took place, I categorically reject any reports or allegations suggesting that any form of physical violence was used to resolve any differences of any nature.
I strongly condemn violence in all its forms and firmly believe that disagreements should always be handled with professionalism, respect, and mutual understanding.
I kindly ask that speculation be avoided while the matter is being addressed.
Further updates will be communicated in due course.
Now, it's a pole position. I'll happily take it.
But do you wanna be on pole in Mexico? Long run down to T1, and Ferrari aren't exactly rapid in a straight line.
I hope Lewis does that first lap on a used set. The delta between new and used seems to be rather small.
