My Closing Remarks at the Ministerial Troika Meeting of the Trilateral Planning Cell (TPC) in Pretoria, South Africa.
I represented the Republic of Uganda at the Ministerial Troika Meeting of the Trilateral Planning Cell (TPC) in Pretoria, South Africa, where I witnessed Uganda and Angola’s admission as new members. I reaffirmed Uganda’s commitment to strengthening regional cooperation, intelligence sharing and joint efforts to combat illicit drug trafficking and transnational organised crime, in collaboration with partner states and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). I congratulate H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on this milestone, which strengthens Uganda’s role in advancing regional security and cross-border cooperation.

"The welfare of our personnel remains a top priority. We have prioritised our budget to address key welfare needs, including the provision of uniforms, accommodation, medical care, feeding during operations, and essential utilities, among others. We are also strengthening our internal capacity to undertake construction works and accelerate the delivery of infrastructure projects. Some of the ongoing projects include: - Nsambya Police Barracks: Construction of a permanent perimeter wall, which is 50% complete. - Naguru: Construction of 1,200 accommodation units to improve housing for police personnel. - Jinja and Entebbe: Development of additional accommodation facilities for police personnel. - New Police Headquarters: Construction is ongoing, with completion expected in the third quarter of the current financial year - Crime Data Analysis Centre (CDAC), Kibuli: The project is nearing completion. - Block-making project, Nsambya: Within just two months, we have produced 200,000 concrete blocks, demonstrating our growing internal capacity to support construction works" @igp_ug1

Thank you @igp_ug1 for visiting Kazo. Your commitment to peace, law & order through community policing is commendable. The department of community policing needs to be supported to do much more.
#UnpopularOpinion #849. Did you demand & got your spouse’s, fiancé’s or girl/boyfriend’s credentials for their SM accounts? Do you have access to their SM usage on your device? You’re paranoid. Relationships are built on trust. Even when it’s broken, there’re better ways. You may be suffering from low self esteem & confidence. Do your responsibility, & let God take charge.

I have engaged the IGP @igp_ug1, who is coming to the ground to assess the situation and oversee the response. Please get in touch with him directly, and be assured that the necessary measures are being taken to address the situation. Thank you.
Another one, a 37 year old Amos Nuwagira of Bwizi Buremba was also butchered last night & his motocycle taken. We need serious security interventions from @MODVA_UPDF and @PoliceUg . Our people are in a state of fear as they can't tell which homestead or village will be next!

This morning, I represented @igp_ug1 at the commissioning of Makulubita Sub-County Police Station in Luwero District, a fully fledged police facility equipped with accommodation for officers, constructed through the generosity of H.E. Alhaji Farid Kaliisa, Uganda’s Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo. This is a commendable demonstration of community partnership and commitment to public safety. Security is a shared responsibility and partnerships of this nature strengthen the relationship between police and the communities we serve. I reminded officers deployed here that the true value of the facility would ultimately be measured by the quality of service rendered to the public. I urged them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, integrity and accountability and not turn the station into a place where people fear to come or where justice has a price. Be available, be fair and be firm with criminals. I called upon residents to actively support the Police through timely sharing of information, support crime prevention initiatives and maintain mutual respect and cooperation.
