Living with long covid in kids ... sofa thumping fury and daily calculations on what they can and can't manage. My son has recovered more than Toby here but has plateaued for more than a year. Thanks for highlighting this @guardian @LCKScotland emea01.safelinks.protection.…

And I’m very grateful to him, my eldest boy had this and it was picked up reasonably quickly and treated - the damage takes a long time to heal unfortunately
Barry Marshall was convinced that the Helicobacter pylori bacteria caused stomach ulcers, but no one believed him. Since it was illegal to test his theory on humans, he drank the bacteria himself and developed ulcers within days. He treated them with antibiotics and we on to win a Nobel prize in 2005.

Extraordinary to watch reporting of our #recession today as 'technical' and 'mild'. The economy's *felt* dire for well over a year, and GDP doesn't do that justice Let's ask instead how we can have rising child poverty and NOT consider it a recession?! childrenengland.org.uk/blog/…

“Vision is the most vital step in the policy process. If we don’t know where we want to go, it makes little difference that we make great progress. Yet vision is not only missing almost entirely from policy discussions; it is missing from our whole culture." Donella Meadows

If - like me - you're busy finishing your response to the @scotgov Wellbeing & Sustainable Development Bill consultation, why not read this blog by @sophiehowe about why Scotland should establish an independent commissioner for Future Generations 🌍🧑‍🤝‍🧑💰🌳 carnegieuktrust.org.uk/blog-…

A long wait at the GPs may not be the best place to read Margaret Atwoods mediation on mortality (or it might be precisely the best place), but this is exquisite - I didn’t want it to end (which may of course be the point)

“Whistleblowers on what it's like to work as a Glasgow addiction nurse” This is what my husband does (he’s not the whistleblower tho) but I can vouch for the wider impact. The govt may have made millions available but where is it? ⁦@Glasgow_Times⁩ glasgowtimes.co.uk/news/scot…

Pleasure to meet with ex-Welsh Government Minister, @JaneBryngwyn & @Hannah_Paylor from Carnegie Trust to discuss my Wellbeing & Sustainable Development Bill. Having delivered the Future Generations Act in Wales, Jane has key experience in how to ensure my bill achieves its aims.

There was a real buzz around @ScotParl this morning - it was lovely to see loads of school groups in the building learning about democracy. But what kind of place do we want our kids & grandkids to grow up in? Good to meet with @SarahBoyack to explore this question. #Futuregen
