I could never really be friends with or spend any personal time with someone who doesn't immediately know the answer to this question. Sorry, but there it is. Not negotiable.

Spent last two days at the Seven Years War Association's annual convention in South Bend. Delivered a key note address on the Russian Military Enlightenment, saw old friends, and enjoyed wargaming with @KKriegeBlog.

Take a look inside.
Just a normal day here. Nothing staged, just how things are behind the scenes at Patrick Miniatures.

When Germans extracted the rest of Europe for their own benefit, they got wiped out and spent rest of the century in humiliation.
When Russians did that to half of Europe gifted by the Allies, they spent three decades in oligarchy shithole eating dirt.
Ukrainians teached me a lot. Mostly about not regretting the courage and sacrifice. I am long past considering a war being the worst thing.
War is an option many people in history did not have. We dont know those people. They were conquered, executed and erased from history. When “people” like Dugin get a free reign over your nation, your nation dissapears from present and history.
In war, men come and go. They die as a number in statistics. Their houses are being burned, their 1000 years old villages flattened by bombing. And that sounds horrible to a young man with teenage dreams.
But for an adult man who did build a house and raised kids, waging a war for their freedom and identity is natural. Dying facing enemy is a honorable death which puts a pride in the eyes of your family and ancestors.
Your kids will build a new house and they will sing songs about your bravery in your native language.
I am more than confident that Russians will pay terrible price for what they unleashed. I do not feel rush or panic about that. They are a certified shithole for the near future.
Ukraine, on the other hand, became a first world nation during those 4 years. Their brand is set for the rest of the century. People talk legends about their courage every day. I can hardly point out any group in history which demonstrated such a David vs Goliath performance. Every man and woman who died for it did something unbelievable. This is civilizational run of a nation. In one decision, they destroyed Russia, humbled Europe and humiliated America for not being strong enough. Never bet against them again.
Decisions were made. Blood has been spilled. Rest is thermodynamics.
Fuck Russia. Fuck every Russian supporting this in any way. Slava Ukraini.

Epic game of Chain of Command 2 at Cancon put on @PainterTactical today. Fall of Königsberg in early '45. My Volksgrenadiers fought courageously, but went down in the end to aggressive Soviet SMG troops. #spreadthelard

"Hey man, sure. Start learning HOI4. Look up tutorials. Once you know the basics, we'll play multiplayer."
"I meant about real life."
"Oh, yes, grab a few extra gold bars with you. RAM costs a lot right now."
