Last month, I attended the ReAct Africa Conference, where I received the 2026 Exceptional Youth Leadership in AMR Award.What began with losing a childhood friend to infection became a commitment to fighting antimicrobial resistance.

Flu is caused by viruses, not bacteria, so antibiotics won't help! Antibiotics target bacteria, and are ineffective against viruses like influenza. Taking antibiotics when you have the flu won't make you feel better, and it can even contribute to #AMR. #FluSeason #OneHealth
