Evolution tends to move at its own pace, but it's always in motion. No one can stop the future, even someone determined to bring it about. Pantheon Season 2 Episode 7. Criminally underrated show.

This month's Hugging Face incident is OpenCode. Something you can just say to attach whatever fantasies you want to attach, with little ability for most people to check your bullshit. When you do get called out, you can deflect to some future danger. Many of you didn't even know about OpenCode or Railway before all of this.

Don't forget to run the clock out on your limits we have anywhere between 1 - 5 hours remaining, probably less.

Fully agree with this. One thing I would add is even if you are moving fast doesn't mean the world will. Example I'm still waiting for both my LinkedIn and Meta App review. I had two wait 2 days for my Pinterest app access to be reinstated. The world around me moves so slowly and feels like it's slowing under the weight of all the agentic behaviour.
I think the world is about to bifurcate into people who have agency and people who donโ€™t That seems like the last thing thatโ€™s left that distinguishes humans from machines in terms of economic value, and I actually donโ€™t think that machines are going to get agency anytime soon I think that is bad news for people without agency, and I donโ€™t really know what to do about it

Open Source and the sharing of content will change in the future. This will last until we get to the point LLMs don't need example material. Everything is getting disrupted, we had a stable era for the last 30 years. High trust cultures are slowly becoming low trust.
Thank you for the response Justin, I just DM'd you my thoughts on this whole situation and I appreciate you acknowledging us quickly The competition looks great, we should have more systems competitions in the world and I always wanted people to learn so they could graduate on and do important things in the world. It's by design that I want people to graduate out of GPU MODE. You guys obviously put care into designing this competition and you do deserve a lot of credit for that. But there is this weird asymmetry where we can work hard in oss to do work with minimal resources (I used to pay for everything out of pocket until a few generous sponsors and maintainers came through) only to have our contributions erased by teams with significantly more resources. A lot of excellent engineers I know are now forced to be secretive because if they share their ideas in the open they'll get out-shipped by teams with more GPUs and tokens. This is just a bad precedent for everyone and knowledge will be diffused much more slowly if this continues.

Elie and others are trying to do God's work. This was a good video talking about this. I don't think it's going to stop. It creates a lot of activity, which Twitter wants. It's a pay to win filter. It's not that different from people asking their friends to retweet their posts. Or a company doing team engagements eg AI company syncing their nice-things posts on launch day. The scale is the biggest problem. The best Twitter can do is put the disclaimer at the top. And an opt-out filter for it. I think it's romantic to believe in some efficient market theory that good products get discovered. The real answer is probably something like, you need to take a systems approach to get people to your thing.
if you look at the replies and reposts of the main post AND the paid partnership posts most of them are fake and just bot farms at large scale so against X ToS and quite easy to cluster since it's always the same accounts (there is a good blog post to make with "we asked grok 4.7 to identify all the clusters and ban the bot farms") jev used this kind of slop agency and it definitely works and converted into real usage (and they raise a massive amount with this) so i can understand why people are doing it, it's just sad and should be fixed at the platform level quick otherwise everyone will do it and people will start to leave X

It also exists because Twitter Ad platform sucks. it would be far cheaper for companies to pay Twitter to do this for them.
