Sad to listen to the stories of people out there who are really lost Entrepreneurship as skill set really needs to be taught in schools At the end of the day, a job is people giving you money to solve their problems The people with these stories have skills, and if they could find a niche that they know well they could solve problems there for money But so many people are locked into the idea that it’s up to somebody else to figure out how to make their work valuable

Here is an interesting thought

Wait a moment, could this extend to securing voting machines that are internet-connected ?

Well, we just rotated every single key across a large number of projects very quickly, and I'm struck by the fact that this would have been an absolute nightmare not too long ago The defensive aspect of AI for cybersecurity is really underrated Where the nuclear weapon analogy breaks down with AI is that you can't stop a nuclear weapon with another nuclear weapon But you can stop an AI attack with an AI

We might be about to go through what people were afraid that Y2K would be I guess the good news is that all these vulnerabilities have been out there this whole time, and probably have been being exploited secretly When we finally make it through all of this, the Internet will be much more secure The big losers may actually be the intelligence agencies, who certainly knew about these things and were using them to backdoor stuff

I got into an argument with the openAI support chatbot so I put my openAI dot on the job of getting it resolved and now they are going back-and-forth, lol

This is really not good
The Department of Homeland Security is requiring all civilian federal agencies to remove DeepSeek products and 'any third-party services developed using DeepSeek implementations,' and to stop buying them.

I will be 50 in a couple of months and I think one of the reasons that I have stayed healthy and youthful is that I have never had a corporate job and, as a result, I have never had to endure bullshit like this

20 year HR professional here. Many times I’d make candidates wait a few extra minutes to see how they handled it when they got frustrated. Weeded out a lot of hot heads. Me, I’m looking for patience and understanding.

Disappointing but not surprising Communists will be communists
We’re committing a portion of Anthropic’s shares to the Anthropic Public Benefit Fund, a new wholly owned entity dedicated entirely to the public benefit. It will start off with 5% of our shares. For every 50% increase in the company’s value over a set baseline, we can contribute up to an extra 2%, subject to our board’s discretion. In total, this means that roughly 20% of Anthropic’s shares are committed to the public good. Our co-founders have already pledged to donate 80% of their equity, and around half our employees are donating a portion of their equity as part of a donation matching program we’ve run since our founding. In the post below, we share more details about our new fund. anthropic.com/news/public-be…

While Altman is very shrewd politically, I think there is a fundamental issue at OpenAI in that he is, at heart, a YC consumer app guy, unlike Dario, who is an AI researcher That’s why OpenAI keeps drifting back to consumer apps, because that’s how Altman can’t help but think about things
OpenAI's retreat from expensive side projects may be reversing as the company explores a deal to revive Sora while expanding its efforts in robotics, creator tools and personal devices. Read more details: thein.fo/47l0mJR

It is very hard to plan the use of Codex when you have all these random resets happening It would be much better if these were simply banked resets, even if they happened less often But right now your only reasonable strategy is to try to burn down your usage as quickly as possible and then hope for a reset It’s really not a good customer experience

It seems that Perplexity is getting desperate Advertising a feature designed to assist with unethical and often illegal behavior is not something a healthy company does

If anyone says that the Roadster demo wasn't cool take anything that they ever say and immediately throw it into the trash forever. If they can't even admit that this was freaking cool they have a COMPLETE ego problem. Blinded by hatred. Total derangement. Incurable. Terminal.
