I just donated to 52 projects in the @gitcoin GG23 round! One of the most impactful things you can do is support builders and OSS projects. Even a $1 donation goes a long way thanks to Gitcoin’s QF model. The process was smooth, but I had a small moment of confusion 😅 I read that you could boost projects by staking GTC, so I went to Gitcoin Passport and staked some to improve my score. I assumed I could then use that staked GTC to distribute my stake across projects in the round. Turns out you need unstaked GTC, which you temporarily stake directly on projects until the round ends. I felt a bit bad that I couldn’t stake to any projects since I had already staked all the GTC I bought on Passport. It made me wonder if this mechanism could evolve into something where already staked GTC (from Passport or elsewhere) gives you “boosting rights” you can use to support projects in current and future rounds. Feels like it could make participation a bit easier and maybe even reflect longer-term alignment from donors.
