Not school, but in one of my early jobs, I cycled 28 miles to work and 28 miles back (over north downs for a couple of years). We couldn't afford the train fare if we wanted to pay mortgage, utilities, food, baby stuff etc etc. I became very fit and it turned into a choice.
#Aberfan : I can't get over how a government and the NCB: could have been so callous. Repeated with Hillsborough, Post Office, blood scandal, atomic bomb tests. Communities offer wholehearted support; governments offer obstacles wrapped up to look like support. Degrading trust.

Not answering a straightforward question by party and government politicians is one of the worse elements in politics today. Stand up for your conviction and albeit say you collectively will go with final government policy but on this issue you think otherwise.

Who is standing up for single property landlords who provide prospective tenants a place to rent? Fairness works both ways, and people are allowed to make a reasonable profit within the UK, even with a labour government.

L5/S1 slipped disc with compressed sciatic nerve. Its like hot barbed wire travelling down leg to toes, combined with radiated pain across back and glutes; no let up. Next in line: ear ache.

We've just moved into a new build with air source; its tricky working out how to operate it. Location of house, small development, near to village pub outweighed the air source. Going to invest in extra jumpers for winter, and/or spend more time in pub.

If you want the voting public to believe you then resign from the Green Party. It bears no relationship to what it was before Polanski / Ali leadership.

I fail to see or read anywhere where Hamas wants a 2 state solution. What pressure are the government placing on Hamas and their state sponsors to engage in a 2 state solution. It places its focus on a democratic country but not (to the public eye) on other Middle East countries.

I am at a loss to understand this political grandstanding. It doesn't deal with the intractable situation. What were they right about? There's nothing to be right about; its not binary. Explain the morals of war after a murdreous attack on one country by state backed terrorists.

This makes no sense. So they (councils + government) stop you selling it within the 7 years. Who gets the rent? Who pays the service charges? Who ensures there is no damage to the property? What right do they have? If the council wants the property - then buy it. Details needed.

He seems to be under the idea that people want monarchy as celebrities, rather than a monarchy within our constitution. If the two of them follow this, then they compete with the multitude of "celebrities" fighting for air time.

I cannot understand the sheer crass behaviour of these people. The only sacred thing they seem to hold dear are themselves and their own views which to them trump everything else.

This is what happens when shouting views to a mass of people. It all becomes an exercise in demanding group-think. Slogans replace rational discourse and the person shouting becomes energised to shout more and for those in the audience to parrot likewise.

This to me (as not a Christian) appears wholly un-Christian. Why is the Anglican church taking part in group-think bowing to hateful ideology of those who want to eradicate the very existence of Israel and by so doing damming many Jews around the world, to fear for themselves.
Replying to @HeidiBachram
They are an education union not the Foreign Office. Demand better teaching standards; demand improved behavioural standards in schools; demand a curriculum open to all and without bias. They are unable to demand anything re Israel, as they have no authority nor right.

There'll be a run on chocolate coins, after Andy Burnham and the Treasury decide to withdraw the use of coins across the UK. People decide to use chocolate coins instead to go alongside the chocolate teapot policies of the current government.
