Perfecting, and it isn't close. Shipping fast gives you wrong answers quickly. Perfecting gives you no answers at all, and you find out after six months instead of six days.

99% of my 'overnight' wins took 14 months and 3 dead products.
The 1% is just the part you see.

how it feels waking up with $100K MRR, no investors/cofounders, and knowing what you created is helping people meet in real life

Can Sonnet 4.6 design and code clean onboarding pages? Or should I use opus?
Any more tips? (First time building an onboarding process).
Thanks!

Things I learned from launching my first app:
→ Add verification or your DB will be full of bots
→ Start promoting before launch or you’re already late
→ Use your app every day, you’re the best tester
→ Don’t overthink, you’ll learn on the way
→ Talk to users early (they’ll tell you what actually matters)
→ Simple > perfect (just ship it)
You don’t learn by planning
You learn by launching

Builders. I need your help!
On appstoreconnect / TestFlight, do you know how you can either
> delete
> group
> or re order
beta feedback screenshot submissions for an app?
I want to mark the updates / implementations I’ve done off so I it’s more organised.
Thank you 🙏

If you have 20-50 users on your app, congrats.
That's a classroom full of people using something you built.
That's not nothing.
That's everything.

If not better, then more practical, entertaining, niche, cheaper, more high end, more personal or what ever.
Loads of opportunities out there still - especially if you're willing to communicate with people and learn what matters to them.
Solo founders journey:
- fail
- fail
- buys domain + Claude subscription
- builds AI tool nobody asked for
- $0 MRR
- tweets “My first SaaS/app is live now”
- still $0 MRR
- first sale: $5
- celebrates like they’re pre rich
- builds second AI app
- $200 MRR
- writes thread: “10 lessons from my first $200 MRR”
- discovers marketing & distribution
- starts posting like an influencer
- submits to 100+ directories manually
- curates the list with high DR directories
- gets featured
- starts seeing traffic
- $1000 MRR
- launches on Product Hunt
- doesn’t explode
- learns again
- doubles down on marketing
- builds AI Directories
- starts posting on X and Reddit
- starts engaging with potential customers
- helps other founders find users
- $ 5K MRR
- $ 10K MRR
- crosses 10K followers
- crosses $ 150K total sales
realizes:
- product matters
- but marketing and distribution changes everything
- now building bigger.
what happens at 1M followers? 👀

Oh mate. Too real. So I started this app in September but over December January I barely touched it. All stemming from have a week / 2 where I had a lot on. A couple weddings to go to, summer in Australia, a couple birthdays. After those 2 weeks off i just never got back into it for the following month odd. The Friday / Saturday can be a setback if you drink. But as long as you pick yourself up when Monday comes around, get back on the horse as you said. Then you can keep taking a step forward.

You build it. I promote it.
Building has never been easier. Getting customers has never been harder.
So I’m picking 2 products to promote to our 1,000,000+ entrepreneurs for our 16-year anniversary next Tuesday.
Drop your product below.
Don’t have one? Build it this weekend and come back.

Congrats Zach
this goes to show that those who make comments such as "it's just a GPT wrapper" and "I could build that in a weekend" really miss the point
people don't wanna know if you can build a product in a week, they want their problem fixed
we don't buy processes, we buy solutions
