I would vote 100x for this man
With Sen. Eckhardt’s election as Comptroller, friends, neighbors & community leaders have encouraged me to run for her seat. I’m seriously considering the opportunity to continue advocating for our community in the Tx Senate. Look forward to hearing from folks as I consider it!

What starts here changes the world
> Be James Talarico > Co-sponsor statewide single-stair bill > Win Texas by 12 pts Clearly, the path to victory in America is through YIMBY single-stair reform.

Here's a useful way to think about what is going on in TX: The 8th largest economy in the world is experiencing regime change

When you listen to James Talarico, you realize that last night's results were not just a rejection of Trump and Israel's Iran war, but also a rejection of a Democratic Party led by people like Biden, Blinken, and Sullivan: "I've never taken money from AIPAC, and I'm not taking money from AIPAC in this campaign. Seeing what's happening in Gaza makes me sick to my stomach as a teacher, as a Christian, as a human being" This is his message, and he won in Texas!

A left-NIMBY told me renters keep being renovicted; I asked how he deals with population growth and he said he opposes all developments that aren't affordable so I said it sounds like he’s just renovating old rental homes for rich people and then his tenants union started crying.

WSJ front page: American roads becoming deadlier for peds Austin has long req’d 25’ of clear fire access, the standard fire code requires 20’. Wider streets encourage dangerous speeds We need to build fire trucks around the city we want, not build our city around fire trucks
Less than 5% of fire department calls are for fires and yet, the FDs insist on an 18-ton truck and four person crew to attend a 78 y/o woman with chest pain. At this point, fire trucks are mostly branding. FDs have become a spectacularly expensive EMS service. Time for reform

Early voting is open! Go vote now for pro-housing, pro-transit candidates! Plenty of candidates claim to want an affordable, walkable Austin, but our endorsement goes only to candidates who will actually fight to build the homes and transit needed to make it happen!

Proposition I is a Trojan horse that is campaigning on a (redundant) efficiency audit but is actually a new legal entitlement that allows extremists to hijack the City’s budget. Chaotic and bad for public safety. Analysis: austinmetric.com/more-than-m…

We want to se affordable mixed use development, but we don’t like projects like Dog’s Head. That’s why we’re endorsing against the council member who supports affordable mixed use development and voted against Dog’s Head. @AustinChronicle has done it again!

the double standard is glaring. in east austin, we encourage dev for housing, transit, sustainability and tax base. west austin, we cap heights & limit dev to protect surrounding exclusionary zoning same city, different priorities
