There is something deeply wrong with a political system that allows one trillionaire to buy his own personal U.S. Senator.
if Zohran can extend the N/W to LaGuardia he should become mayor for life

I do think it should be mentioned the chief organizer of this campaign (even listed first) is a millionaire whose views from her apartment would be blocked by new public housing being built next door

Just last fall, one of the leaders of this slate was rallying with Zohran’s Republican challenger and Vickie Paladino, who has called for Zohran to be deported, the “expulsion of Muslims" and posts about throwing leftists out of helicopters. Disappointing!

Hey @elonmusk any update on this?
when did you first realize that Elon was a grifter?
for me, it was the “verbal government approval” of a hyperloop back in 2017
extremely common congestion pricing W
kinda funny how everyone freaked out over congestion pricing before it went into effect, but now that it’s working, everyone has moved on and it’s quietly reducing congestion & making the subway better
honestly NYC probably has the strongest Mayor + Governor combo of any major city in the country right now with Zohran + Hochul creating the strongest economic growth in the country and pushing major pro-housing reforms
Long Island is one of the most interesting places in the world. Smart, wealthy, hard-working people, most of whom have some real connection to NYC (work there, child lives there, ancestors there) but who hate it. Wonderful geography that is mostly wasted. Bizarre culture.
it’s actually crazy how bad the zoning is on Long Island. Look at all of these LIRR stations that are a ~30 minute train ride from Manhattan. all surrounded by parking lots, strip malls, mansions, and golf courses.
we need to make it legal to build more housing here!
oh my god James Talarico just highlighted his single stair reform bill at his town hall
that’s my pro-housing GOAT and the next senator from Texas

Blakeman: housing prices have skyrocketed under my administration! Appreciate the congrats!

It’s always a fun game to switch “property values” and “housing prices” in any sentence, because they’re the same thing with opposite valences.

Newsflash: Nearly 4-in-5 New Yorkers actually WANT more housing, especially near transit. (via @AJeffNY @StreetsblogNYS)

This is one of the reasons CA and NY struggle in housing. It's not just that many Dems have NIMBY tendencies. It's that the Republicans there are actively worse!
Hochul deserves praise for her push on this, even though, as she says, much more is needed.

Amazing. Blakeman brags about building the lowest number of homes in the nation and raising the price of housing by over *41%* in 4 years, while Hochul is (rightly) proud of taking on hard fights to build more and actually work to bring down housing costs for NYers.

here's Bruce Blakeman tonight claiming "I never said that I would cut Medicaid in half" -- immediately followed by a clip of him saying on Fox Business in June that "we make sure we cut Medicaid in half"

I keep thinking about this exchange. Blakeman says he's "created wealth" because of the skyrocketing home prices in Nassau County. The idea that young families are priced out just doesn't occur at all

Oh my god.
In my 31 years of life, I’ve never heard a politician brag about raising the price of homes by FOURTY ONE PERCENT in four years.
