Using his estimates of Billboard’s weighting, Jay says Drake has 70% more streams than Bruno Mars, yet Bruno still ranks higher because 65% of his points come from radio.
“Radio counts too much.”
Jay says if you remove radio from his example, Drake jumps from #19 to #11 and Lil Baby from #23 to #14, while Bruno drops dramatically.
His argument is that streaming reflects a listener actively choosing a song, while radio can keep records alive through programmed rotation.
