This is not about halaal, apply it Kosher too for all I care, it’s about social, economic, and political currency that minorities enjoy in South Africa at the expense of the majority. We shouldn’t have to explain that to so called “educated” people. By having to buy from a halaal certified butcher to serve umleqwa where does that leave my local Xhosa suppliers that cannot afford that or simply don’t know how to comply to those specific standards? Who must I now buy from and pay to do business with my own people?
