The celebration of our diversity is always presented as mutual and inclusive, yet the compromises required to sustain it appear to be expected disproportionately from one side. We are constantly lectured on the virtues of diversity by those who make little effort to learn our languages and understand our cultures, yet are all too willing to impose their beliefs on us, through courts and otherwise.
No one forces people to eat Halaal or Kosher foods. Woolworths stocks Halaal meat for a reason - there is a market for it. Checkers sells Yahrzeit candles - the ones that last all night that Jewish people use to remember their dead loved ones. Let us celebrate our diversity - go to restaurants that sell alcohol and those that do not. Islamophobia has emerged recently - in whose interests?

That’s how inclusive and tolerant we are as South Africans. Yet look at how quick you were to tell me to just find another Spur. We create room for you to have your Halaal food etc. but you refuse to be inclusive and consider us, the majority. You see the problem?
Don't need to......I have a few halal spurs super close to my home 😁

IF SOUTH AFRICA WERE EXCLUDED FROM AGOA, the country would face an additional Most Favoured Nation tariff of around 3.4% on top of the existing tariffs the current U.S. Administration added to various countries. Currently, some South African products enter the U.S. market at 12.5% tariffs (Liberation Day tariff). Without AGOA, these tariffs would rise to 15.9%, slightly reducing the competitiveness of South African agricultural products in the U.S. market. Still, one could argue that while this would be a challenging path, IT WOULD NOT NECESSARILY BE AS CATASTROPHIC as we have faced in the past, when it faced much higher U.S. tariffs and still managed to compete. For example, in 2025, those of us in the South African farming sector faced tariffs of around 30%. Still, exports to the U.S. were strong. South Africa’s agricultural exports to the U.S. in 2025 totalled US$504 million, down 3% from the previous year.

No political brain whatsoever. It honestly breaks my heart how naive we are as a people. How are we even debating that the invasion of SA by illegal immigrants is a disaster for example??? Some of us have to die fr so we can raise our thinking level across the board, I’m sorry.
The amount of accommodating, inclusivity, and bending over backwards black South Africans must do in this country for minorities that don’t even have the courtesy of learning our languages is astounding.😂😂

No one cares what village you’re from and whatever assimilation you imagine, the vast majority don’t care about your existence go to their headquarters and see how they are when they don’t have to pretend.

Well where I am from they've assimilated themselves very well within my community and they actively try to speak native languages. To say they dont even try is not true. If this vexes you so much buy a business and cater it to our own community and employ our own people then.

Islam is literally anti- black, they treat Africans like subhumans...they are pro exploitation and they practice slavery. Go to any of their stores here and you will find human trafficked Malawians slaving away, Malawians that they have successfully turned into Muslims

When they learn our languages our people become emotional and excited, saying things like you can keep the land or son of the soil. There's something wrong with this type of mindset we've entertained.

Those clowns are the biggest fools . They don't even realise they're Black themselves. They are trying so hard to fit in. I don't know, fit in in what? You can't fit in. You're not part of those circles. You're not part of whiteness, no matter how hard you try and how much you twist the accent.

Yah we haven’t had political braincells since forever; we don’t know how to play this game of power and dominance 💔💔
By the way these debates are nothing new. During the colonisation of the Cape there was a split between amaXhosa, you had amaQaba that refused any white institutions and structures and were called backwards and uneducated, and you had amaGqoboka, who called amaqaba fools for not accepting missionaries with their school and medicine. The rest is history. You’re seeing that very same dichotomy play out and it will lead to the same thing.

The difference between Solomon plaatjies and chief bambatha. Both lived at the same time, but had very different colonial experiences.

As a kid i genuinely thought that iqaba was an idiot because that's how everyone used the word, then i learnt about the history of the word and the people that were essentially erased to be replaced by an insult, man that shit radicalised me

black liberals are arguing that kafir in the arabic sense and the k-word nonblacks use do not have the same meaning rather than asking why this word that connotes irreligiousity in arabic can be so easily transmogrified to become a racial epithet for native southern africans
