Lahiri Mahasaya explains that true Brahmacharya is not merely the suppression of desires, but an inner transformation.
In Kriya Yoga, as Prana becomes steady through Pranayama and awareness turns inward towards Sushumna, the restless mind gradually settles and the hold of desires begins to weaken.
True self-control arises not through force, but through deeper spiritual awareness.

When God is realised, He Himself provides everything for His devotees. He sees that they do not lack anything. When God is enshrined in the heart, many people come forward to offer their services.

The mystery & meaning of faith will open like a flower only while sitting in silence. Faith in something greater than oneself is like a veil being withdrawn from the depths within, and a hunger for eternal peace that the distracted world denies.

It is of the highest importance to make the mind lose itself in the infinite. If we are the Witness, merely an onlooker, noticing its rises & its falls, it cannot but become submissive to us. Hence, the mind is to be well handled & keenly watched.

Lt Gen Khandare rightly credits the visionary naval leadership for creating #NIIO (including Adm @Kbsingh03 & V Adm @geethashok). Their successors Adm Hari Kumar & VAdm @SatishGhormade initiated Swavlamban.
He has also mentioned me though I was but a foot soldier who played a small role.
What @VGK_India has not mentioned in his modesty is HIS own very important ‘behind the scenes’ role in how #Swavlamban came about! That is a story which needs to be told.

#WATCH | Delhi: At the Swavlamban seminar 2025, Lt Gen Vinod G Khandare (Retd) says, "Today's event is the fourth edition. We started in 2022 with a small idea that came from the Indian Navy. The point, then, was that we created a group of experts called T-DAAC... Admiral KB and Vice Admiral Ashok would say they took the lead. When it came to 'Swavlamban', that was Admiral Hari Kumar and his team, with Vice Admiral Gourmade and Commodore Goliath, and the present team, now led by Koundare SK Singh. These are the people who led this entire thing, took it to a level where, in the first one, the prime minister came to the American International Centre himself... We want to innovate and make our own solution. 'Swavlamban' is like taking the next step beyond 'Atmanirbharta'. We are being 'Atmanirbhar', but at the same time, we have to be 'Swavlamban' also."
Regarding 26/11 terrorist attack in Mumbai, he says, "That was a ghastly terrorist attack. If we recollect, prior to that, there used to be a lot of terrorist attacks. But this one was absolutely terrible... There are so many loopholes that have been found. Did we have enough coastal transparency across for surveillance? How exactly was the Mumbai Police structured at that point in time?... We still have a lot of ground to cover, but there is a major difference between what it was then and what it is now. Now, the recent one that happened at the Red Fort also highlights what General Bipin Rawat used to say: that in a 2.5 front threat, 0.5 front threat needs to be handled on a fast track..."

So @RIMBBtest just reposted a podcast I had done a long time back with @VGK_India for @cdf_23…thus making it appear again on my timeline.
Time for some more nostalgia. Since #Swavlamban is ongoing, it may be the right time to revisit how the first edition & #SPRINT came about. ‘Behind the scenes’ stories!
Do watch.
