Are we to understand that @thescorechicago didn't require a dry run or mock broadcast with Haugh & Payton to test their compatibility/chemistry/timing? Because what we are hearing appears to be the experiment happening in real-time, on air. And it is very bad so far. @DavidHaugh

Democrats: Requiring ID makes it too difficult to vote. Voting should be as easy as possible. Also Democrats: Let’s put two Dan Sullivans on the ballot to confuse people.

🤣🤣🤣 ... no. This is an IL DEMOCRATIC political gimmick. Madigan & his lackies did it frequently. So, it appears that BS continues.
This is nothing new in Illinois politics, where candidates with similar names have been put on the ballot to siphon votes from another. So it was particularly interesting to read that a “mysterious Midwestern operative” traversed Alaska to get another Dan Sullivan on the ballot.

Fan-boying from the media? Just another day in Illinois.
The Pritzker campaign sends out photos from many of their events, including one tonight. But the thing that caught my eye had nothing to do with politics...it was the dimple in @cmitchellforlg's tie. Exquisite.

Not to worry! Crime is down. Don't believe me? Ask a Democrat in charge & they'll tell you so ... whilst letting more criminals walk bail-free. But, again, no worries! It's the SAFE-T Act! There ... feel better?

Can someone make sure @3YearLetterman is safe?

The humanities will first have to be saved from themselves. This describes a job ad for an “Assistant Professor of Rhetoric and Composition Rhetoric of Health and Medicine” who will be part of the English department (which is already heavily focused on identity politics).

Ken Griffin on the rise of DSA, Paris riots and looting in Chicago I'm not so worried about it. It's a New York, Illinois, Michigan, California bit of a bubble. If you want to see where socialism leads to, look at France last weekend. It's the socialist dream. The country spends 60% of GDP at the government level. BTW Paris looked pretty damn similar to Chicago in 2021-22. It’s a people… (that) are very willing to riot and protest anything. Is that really the future that the US might be looking at? It’s the future. I lived in Chicago. I could look out my window at the Dior store. They were very efficient. We may be more efficient than the French, even at looting.

Bad men gain power when we don't fight back. Vivek Ramaswamy is everything wrong with politics: arrogance, cruelty, dishonesty, and a willingness to do ANYTHING for power. Ohio deserves better. I'm proud that my wife, MK, is supporting Dr. Amy Acton today.

Both are absolutely trying ...
I'm not sure which will cause the downfall of western civilization first: Liberal white women or Radical Islamist migrants.

There are LOTS of non-progressive IL/Chicago Dems who have sold-out & are now perfectly happy to govern a failed Chicago and/or Illinois. So what if it burns (figuratively or literally) ... so long as they get theirs.
There is one smarmy Chicago politician who would prosper in burning Paris— the spineless “failed mob banker “ Alexi Giannoulis

What a revelation. 🙄 These islamists & their temporary pals -- enviro-nazis, "antifascists", trans nazis, communists, & other progressive scumbags -- absolutely hate western civilization & culture ... and will stop at nothing to burn our way of life down.
Given that the French-speaking world gave us the science of semiotics, they would be the first to recognise that the Palestine flag, as it is being hoisted and brandished across the French republic at the moment, has come to signify something far more than the aspirant state of Palestine. You don't have to be Ferdinand de Saussure to appreciate that this signifier has become unmoored from its original meaning. You don't have to be Roland Barthes to see that this emblem has now assumed a wholly mutated significance: in short, it has become an all-encompassing symbol to denote hatred of the West and of European civilisation. ✍️ Patrick West Article | spectator.com/article/the-pa… | @patrickxwest

This looks like a great paper, but what a commentary on the academy that we need people to argue for — brace for it — “privileging evidence in empirical social science” instead of identity and politics.
Recent prescriptions and policies would have us judge research by non-evidentiary standards, e.g. presumed political impact and scholar identity. In a new essay, Tom Clark and I argue empirical claims should instead be evaluated based on evidentiary strength. We outline a framework for judging evidence, and show its usefulness by revisiting high-profile scholarly disagreements spanning policing, political violence, election administration, and terrorism, before critiquing non-evidentiary approaches. We also argue social science needs a culture that is hospitable to critique—rather than one which condemns critics as “bullies”—if quality standards are to be upheld. dropbox.com/scl/fi/fsgpflron…
