Is it possible for LMND to start something new about insurance for ai agents? Like AI Liability? @shai_wininger @PaperBagInvest

A new milestone for brain-computer interfaces: For the first time, participants without paralysis are controlling computers, playing video games, and operating digital devices using a brain-computer interface that records from the brain’s surface rather than penetrating it.

Here is Episode 2 of my new podcast dedicated to conversations on the future of neurotech, computing, intelligence, and more.
My guest Dr. Ben Rapoport is co-founder and CSO of Precision Neuroscience (@PrecisionNeuro_), Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and Scientific Director at Mount Sinai. Previously, he co-founded Neuralink and Simbionics (acquired by Apple).
Precision is building a minimally invasive brain-computer interface (BCI) that reads from thousands of points on the cortex without penetrating it. The Layer 7 device is implanted through a one-millimeter slit in the skull rather than the larger borehole other approaches require. It is also fully removable.
Precision seeks to help the 5 million people living with severe paralysis in the US (including 800,000 new stroke cases per year). In March 2025, Precision received FDA clearance for a temporary wired version of the system. Over 85 patients have been implanted with and used the device in clinical studies (50 at the time of our conversation). Wireless implants are planned for 2027.
We go deep on the history of Neurotech from the 1980s to the ML inflection points that triggered Neuralink's founding, why surface ECoG was a contrarian bet that's now paying off, the path to treating paralysis and stroke at scale, and why Ben believes neural data is at the same inflection point genomic data was in 2000 — a whole class of biological problems about to become tractable as computer science problems.

I've been evaluating $LMND's endgame, and I believe their moat is heavily underestimated. Big AI companies won't enter the insurance space directly due to the heavy regulatory burdens and capital requirements. Meanwhile, legacy insurers are too bogged down by tech debt to replicate Lemonade’s AI-native architecture. Lemonade essentially has no structural rivals at this intersection. My thesis: once $LMND reaches sustained, significant profitability, they will become the ultimate M&A target for either legacy giants or tech conglomerates. The future here is incredibly bright.
Insurance is half price when Tesla self-driving is activated, because it increases safety so much
NEWS: U.S. insurer Lemonade has announced that it will offer a 50% rate cut for drivers of @Tesla vehicles when FSD is steering because it had data showing it reduced accidents.
“A car that sees 360 degrees, never gets drowsy, and reacts in milliseconds can’t be compared to a human. Beyond the product announcement today, we’re also announcing our commitment to the Tesla community – the safer FSD software becomes, the more our prices will drop,” said Shai Wininger, co-founder and president at Lemonade.
I'm not interested in short-term price targets, but I've noticed that this time, LMND seems to be breaking the volatility pattern it has followed for the past two years.😲
