I have very exciting news that we have been working on for a long time and it’s now official. Protect a Volunteer now has a Memorandum of Cooperation and Interaction with the Foreign Recruitment Center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For OPSEC purposes I am not sharing the exact details of the agreement. However we are looking forward to working on the shared goals of helping more foreigners come to assist Ukraine’s fight and provide them with appropriate support once they arrive.
Ukraine’s defense of its own territory is remarkable; so are the contribution of foreign volunteers who fight with them. Integrating thousands of volunteers coming from all around the world has not been easy. It understandably took time for Ukraine to formalize a system to be able to expand their recruitment of foreigners as well as the opportunities they have in Ukraine. Now that it is formalized under a central command we are looking forward to working together.
We will have a lot of updates soon regarding this partnership.

On Oct. 19, a Russian strike on a Kharkiv park killed five people, including a 1-year-old girl. @CBSNews obtained photos showing air-defense radars offline that day due to SpaceX’s Starlink restrictions. Alina Spichak walked me through the last steps of her sister Yulia, who died there.

This is horrific. Residents of occupied Oleshky who wish to escape to free Ukraine will not be allowed to cross the Dnipro River – which is less than 4 km away. They will be taken to occupied Crimea or to the Russian Federation, where they will be subjected to coercive measures.

Anyone on earth can pay the Trump family for custom foreign policy.
Imagine the billions Russians have funneled to Kushner in exactly the same manner.

China's secret police have detained you.
You are hooded or blindfolded, handcuffed, abducted to a secret location, locked in a padded cell, and threatened with severe punishment for "harming China".

A ceasefire is currently in effect in the area of the temporarily occupied city of Oleshky in Ukraine’s Kherson region.
Praying that Ukrainian people make it out safely.
It’s amazing that in 2008 we were all able to figure out that no candidate can agree with you on everything but if you pick the one that is closest you get closer to getting what you want.
Now in 2026 it’s people saying they won’t vote if they don’t have perfection.

Crucial, must-read piece.
Sudanese lives are worth no less than any others. The appointment of UN Secretary General must reflect that. Being an elite diplomat—even being a first on multiple levels (first woman, Muslim, ethnic Palestinian)—can never erase the war crimes in Sudan.
‘The appointment of Nusseibeh, who has been the face of the UAE’s Sudan strategy, would be a slap in the face to the millions of people suffering the horrors of war, and a dereliction of duty towards those thousands who have already been killed.’

Fellas who follow my mommy @Oksii33, come here🫶
Mommy’s going to be in Twitter jail for a long time, but we can’t let our fundraisers get stuck because of that.
Don’t leave a tiny fluffball fighting for Ukraine all alone🥺
During the first Gulf war my neighbor was in the Navy and deployed. My family sent him a care package and my contribution was sending him my miniature basketball hoop and ball that I won because I read the most books for the Pizza Hut reading challenge. I got that and a pizza.
Then I wrote a note that said I gave it to him because he was on a boat and boats are boring so here is a basketball.
It turns out boats ARE really boring and to this day he still remembers that.
By the time I got to the war, the infrastructure was such that while we loved the candy, razors etc. in the care packages, the real treats were these absolutely unhinged kids greeting cards. We used to sit around in the DFAC giving dramatic readings of them, totally out of love. They were so innocent and unintentionally hilarious, which was much needed.
I volunteer to take this guy to a construction site and see if he can build something. That would also require him to come to this district he is trying to represent.

Honestly, I think this is the article I am most proud of. Eva died in a double-tap strike while trying to rescue people a few minutes from her home. I attended Eva's funeral and met some of those closest to her.

Melissa Murray taught at UC Berkeley when I was there and she was one of my favorite professors. Fantastic teacher and was clearly brilliant.
Really surprising to see her do this to be honest.

Rob Evans, AKA @hotscots_app, is part of the Microsoft cuts. The future for his family just became very uncertain. This man built Hots and Cots not for money, but for love of Soldiers.
Let’s see if we can get him hired!

Hots&Cots has never been my full-time job. It’s been nights, weekends, and vacation days.
My day job has been almost 13 years at Microsoft, most recently as a senior iOS engineer. I’m part of this round.
So I’m open to two things:
* A full-time senior iOS role, building apps or the platforms behind them.
* Contract work. If you need an iOS, Android, or web app built end to end, that’s how I built Hots&Cots.
DMs are open. Hots&Cots isn’t going anywhere.

There are a number of standards we should hold Dems to when they run for office. Many are talking about them right now, as have I. One I’d like to offer tonight is a candidate should tell us who they are in the primary. Let it all out. Be transparent. Tell us what you’d do in the general election well before you’d get there. This transparency is sorely needed for a party that isn’t doing too hot in popularity polls. These big course changes in the general understandably drive a trust deficit when we should be on the ascendancy right now.

You say this protected deeply by blue state dems.
Senators can pass a million laws that help or hurt trans people, outside of sports but you don’t care because a literally cocoon of dems exists to protect you, that doesn’t exist to protect Iowans.
I find you repulsive.
Replying to @queerBengali
senators vote on legislation for the entire country. it is all of our problems and i will continue to make it the partys problem if they continue to allow backsliding of trans rights
