The #BengaluruPolice have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against two Booth Level Agents (#BLAs) affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (#BJP) and others for allegedly submitting fraudulent #Form7 applications to delete 5,698 voters from electoral rolls across the Jayanagar Assembly constituency in #Bengaluru.
The case was registered on Monday night following a formal written complaint filed by #Karnataka Mahila #Congress President Sowmya Reddy.
According to the FIR, the alleged malpractice took place between June 16 and October 5 during the summary revision of electoral rolls. Sowmya Reddy stated that Form-7 applications,meant for objecting to inclusion or requesting the deletion of names from the voters' list,were submitted to Booth Level Officers (#BLOs) falsely claiming that 5,698 electors had permanently shifted out of the constituency.
#SowmyaReddy alleged that BJP BLAs Ramakrishna and Yogesh, along with others, deliberately targeted minority communities and demographics seen as politically unfavorable to the BJP and its coalition partners.
The complaint further revealed that the accused unlawfully procured the identity details of unsuspecting residents, identified as Ramesh and his wife Roopa, to submit Form-7 applications in their names without their knowledge or consent. Additionally, several applications bearing forged signatures were reportedly handed over to BLO Lokesh at the local election office in Jayanagar 4th Block.
Acting on the complaint, the Jayanagar Police registered an FIR against Ramakrishna, Yogesh and others under Sections 61(2)(b), 217(b), 319(2), 336(2) and 340(2), read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. Police have initiated an investigation into the matter.

In her complaint, Reddy alleged that 4,327 voters in Ward No. 171 (Gurrapanapalya) had been removed from the electoral roll, while a total of 5,698 #Form7 applications seeking deletion of voters had reportedly been submitted across the constituency.
According to the complaint, the deletions were allegedly carried out at the request of Lokesh, who is stated to be associated with #BJP leader C.K. Ramamurthy. Reddy further alleged that pre-printed Form 7 applications were used to facilitate the deletions.
The complaint also names Yogesh, who is alleged to have worked with C.K. Ramamurthy, accusing him of involvement in irregular voting-related activities.
Sowmya Reddy stated that former corporator Rizwan Nawab and the concerned Booth Level Officers (#BLOs) were present when the alleged irregularities came to light.
She said an inquiry into the matter had already been conducted by Returning Officer (RO) Eshwar Naidu and Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) Rekha. Claiming to possess video and photographic evidence supporting the allegations,Sowmya Reddy urged the police to verify the records, examine the inquiry findings, and take appropriate legal action if any violations are found.
After lodging the complaint,Sowmya Reddy released a video statement elaborating on the allegations.She said the issue surfaced during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (#SIR) process, for which September 28 was the last date."A few people contacted us during the process. That is when we discovered that 4,327 Form 7 applications had been submitted in a single ward. Across the Jayanagar constituency, 5,698 pre-printed Form 7 applications were submitted for voter deletions," she alleged.
Sowmya Reddy further claimed that most of the deleted voters belonged to minority and #Dalit communities and were people who had traditionally supported the #Congress party."We have filed a complaint with video evidence. In the audio clips, the individuals have allegedly admitted that they are from the BJP office and are working as BLA-2. Elections should be free and fair. We urge citizens to remain vigilant and protect their voting rights," she said.
The police are yet to issue an official response to the allegations.

यमुना किनारे बेला एस्टेट में 728 लोग रहते हैं। SIR के बाद वोटर लिस्ट में सिर्फ़ एक नाम बचा - बाकी 727 नाम काट दिए गए।
ये लोग दशकों से यहाँ रह रहे हैं। 2024 के लोकसभा चुनाव और 2025 के दिल्ली चुनावों में वोट डाल चुके हैं। 2023 में इनके घर तोड़ दिए गए थे - पर ये कहीं नहीं गए, यहीं हैं।
आज मैं इनकी झुग्गी में गया और सीधे इन्हीं से सुना कि चुनाव आयोग ने इनके साथ क्या किया है।
SDM से फ़ोन पर मैंने यही कहा - मकान होने या न होने का वोट के अधिकार से कोई रिश्ता नहीं है। ख़ुद CEC ज्ञानेश कुमार कह चुके हैं कि "हाउस नंबर 0" बेघरों के लिए है। फिर भी 727 लोगों का नाम काट दिया गया।
यह SIR नहीं - यह वोट चोरी का तरीक़ा है। जिनके पास पहले ही सबसे कम है, उनसे उनकी इकलौती ताक़त छीनी जा रही है।
ज्ञानेश कुमार तो जाएँगे। पर जिस सिस्टम ने उनसे यह करवाया, उसका हिसाब भी होगा।

A farmer from Vijayapura, who had come to Bengaluru to meet the CM, unexpectedly met DK Shivakumar at the APMC market and raised his grievance:
“ದುಡ್ಡು ಕಟ್ಟಿದ್ರೂ ಬೆಳೆ ವಿಮೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿಲ್ಲ ಸರ್..”

I have not made any kind of statement that Karnataka would not release water to Tamil Nadu.
Karnataka’s inability to release water is dictated by negligible flows into Four Karnataka reservoirs namely KRS, Kabini, Harangi and Hemavathy and insufficient storages in these reservoirs.
Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA) is the competent Authority for taking decision on the release of water from Karnataka Reservoirs based on the recommendations of Cauvery Water Regulatory Committee (CWRC) and Government of Karnataka has no role in this issue.
The Cumulative Live Storage (MDDL) in Four reservoirs of Karnataka as on 30th June 2026 was 15.761 TMC, which is insufficient for Drinking water needs of the state for next three months.
The cumulative inflows into the into four reservoirs, till the CWRC meeting on 30.06.2026, was 4.05 TMC (Biligundlu 2.915 TMC).
Karnataka submitted in the meetings of CWRC on 16.06.2026 and 30.06.2026, CWMA meeting on 23.06.2026 the storage in the four reservoirs will have to be conserved for meeting the drinking water needs to Bengaluru Metropolitan region, Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Ramanagar and other cities.
The submissions of Karnataka in the meetings have been considered by the CWMA and CWRC and decisions were rendered as:
1.In view of the grim situation in the Cauvery basin, as of now, and the basin being a deficit basin, the respective Party States need to conserve the water to the extent possible in their designated reservoirs by making the most judicious use of the available scarce water resources.
2. Priority may be given to meet the requirements for drinking water and environmental flows.
Since mid of May, the IMD has been publicising in various News Dailies that El-Nino Phenomenon has set in resulting in delayed monsoon and deficit rainfall.
I hope that the South-West monsoon will pick up in the coming days and sufficient flows would be available in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu reservoirs.

I most respectfully submit this representation to your esteemed office with the earnest hope that justice, which forms the very foundation of civilised governance, may be swiftly upheld.
It has come to pass that certain officers at Medipally Police Station, seemingly inclined towards the BRS, have regrettably failed to execute the solemn directive issued by the Hon'ble Telangana High Court. Despite my repeated and patient follow-ups over an extended period, the order remains unimplemented, and diverse pretexts continue to be advanced, thereby occasioning grave denial of justice and undue hardship.
Such protracted delay and apparent selective inaction not only undermine the majesty of the judiciary but also erode public confidence in the impartial discharge of police duties.
I humbly beseech your good self, in your exalted capacity as Director General of Police, to kindly direct the newly appointed Assistant Commissioner of Police (Issue has taken place before the new ACP was appointed and he is not yet aware,he has take charge just a week ago) concerned to personally intervene without further procrastination, ensure faithful compliance with the court’s mandate, and bring this matter to an amicable and lawful resolution at the earliest.
My prayer is made in no spirit of rancour or opposition to lawful authority, but solely in pursuit of the rule of law, which we all hold sacred.
I remain ever grateful for your kind attention and intervention in this regard, and place myself at your disposal for any clarification or particulars that may be required. There are also other issues with the behaviour of SHO which are not to be published here but can be conveyed to the ACP in person. Youth Congress committee members are being targeted due to pro BRS officers.
