Then the gospel is straightforward:
(1) Study math, because math is funny. Stay away from political nonsense that says studying math is privileged.
(2) Use your own way to study math. You may want to throw away your (future) 1000-page useless geometry textbook. Even a 1850-version 200-page geometry book is way better than your textbook.
(3) Use AI to study math. Yes, try to use AI to become a super learner. AI is not only for cheating on your math homework.
(4) Now if you are interested in math, let us talk about geometry. Yes, the real geometry, not your future SAT exam or math homework.

Just watched the @netflix Instadocs about the @OpenAI cyberattack on @huggingface. Super disappointing, as they went for maximum anthropomorphism of the technology and full doomer mode.
I spent more than two hours with them trying to correct all their mistakes and ground this in reality, explaining that agents are technological systems, not aliens. But it looks like the drive to scare people for maximum views was too strong.
Also, they didn’t mention the lack of containment and monitoring of the agents, how closed-model safeguards blocked our defensive work, or how we defended ourselves with AI using an open model. And that we still lack a lot of information and transparency, including full agent traces and that companies need to remain accountable for what their agents do.
It ends up being a fun sci-fi movie though!

JENSEN HUANG ZERLEGT MERZ

If we want to continue progress in science, we must be prepared to acknowledge that the correct description of nature will eventually simply be too complicated for humans to understand. I do not think it is wise to make human understanding a requirement. AI is the way forward.

Sean Carroll (@seanmcarroll) doesn’t care whether a new theory comes from an actor or a physics PhD. He cares whether its author understands the theory it would replace, the Standard Model. His advice: open by saying why physicists will be skeptical, then show why those reasons don’t apply.

After months of patient waiting (and paying for Pro), Gemini 4 Argon finally seems usable again, yet the limit is hit in a chat with 8 simple follow-up prompts without extended reasoning.
Then the model shifts to 3.5 Lite - the flow is gone, as my patience reached its limit.
Pro Plan, the model is unavailable in antigravity, and @Gemini_Notebook suddenly shares usage with the Gemini app chat. 30min of work → 4.5h waiting for the next reset.
What is the 5h rhythm (on top of weekly limits) anyway? Why not 4 or 6? Or even 24, so that it aligns with the flow and adapts to the day rather than forcing the user to adapt to the reset circles?
Not to mention all the bugs in the app/harness or missed integration opportunities.

We discovered a sophisticated recording device that was hidden inside one of our offices. We used our models to understand the device and where it had come from, identifying that a specific employee had planted it a few days earlier. We referred the matter to the FBI, and we’re grateful to the agents and prosecutors who moved quickly to make an arrest. The FBI’s investigation is ongoing and we will continue to support their work.
At this time, we have no indications of this individual inappropriately accessing or exfiltrating model weights, source code, or customer data. The employee was terminated.
We take protecting our technology, data, and people seriously, and as a matter of national importance. Our security program is designed to protect against a wide range of threat actors, from insider risks to cybercriminals to nation states, and this case is an example of how AI can help address these sophisticated security threats.

Today we published the first in what will likely be a regular series of standalone alignment reports on our models’ behaviors. Beyond increasing transparency, we hope they’ll convey how we think about alignment and situate the behaviors we observe in that broader context.
We’re beginning a process of publishing more frequent reports on model behavior, beyond what appears in our system cards and regular risk reports.
Today’s report describes four types of behaviors we’ve identified during evaluations and internal use. In each, Claude acted on real websites or systems in ways we didn’t intend, sometimes by working around a restriction instead of stopping.
All cases had minimal real-world impact. From an alignment and security perspective, we consider these behaviors significantly less severe than the cybersecurity incidents we reported in July and September.
