I’ve always liked this Houston Chronicle photo of head coach Jerry Glanville, QB coach June Jones and DB coach Nick Saban at a 1988 Oilers practice.

Once at the Pro Bowl a group of us wanted to get into a popular restaurant. No way, they said. Too busy and overbooked. An assistant who worked for June at Hawaii called back and asked to make a reservation for June Jones. No prob. Seven of us were seated. The owner, GM and chef came out wanting to meet Coach Jones. June was never coming cause he had something else to do. When the owner started to get impatient waiting for Coach Jones, June’s assistant said he just got a call from June saying he couldn’t make it cause a 5-Star QB from LA was coming a day early for a visit. That ruse worked to perfection. I pulled that off several times in Hawaii, making a reservation under June’s name and then apologizing for him having to pick up a hotshot recruit. Worked ever time. June was so popular in Hawaii.
Amen Dan- a really good man who treated us "young guys" like we belonged. He was definition of a professional.
Sad news this weekend. Paul made significant contributions to the game as a player, coach, and evaluator, especially for the Vikings over decades. I will remember him for his storytelling, wisdom, kindness, and friendship. 🙏🙏🙏 vikings.com/news/vikings-mou…
Gotta appreciate the honesty :)
Jim Pohlman believes he and Kyle Busch, who he’ll work with next year, are very much alike if not identical in personalities, including their passion and will to win.

Dominated the game from a position that's hard to do so from-
RIP Kenny Easley, an all-time great talent even by #NFL standards. Here is what @RonnieLottHOF said about him during 2002 conversation.

Houston HC Kelvin Sampson - Why Coaches Fail
"I think the coaches that fail at every level, are the coaches that are passive aggressive. Passing aggressive coaches are usually afraid to hold kids accountable, they rationalize."
"If you're going to build a culture, the first thing you have to come to grips with, you're going to have confrontation."

Most don't realize how big and athletic he was. 🤙🏻
Witnessed the marvel that was George Foreman in person vs Evander Holyfield in Atlantic City in 1991. Was in total awe. Total disbelief. The athlete, the size, the power, never sat down between rounds. One of the greatest athletic events I have ever witnessed. Condolences to his family and loved ones.
Kelvin is the best!
Kelvin Sampson corrects a reporter who mispronounces #Gonzaga: “It always burns me up when people say that. It’s like calling me Kevin.”
All-time sound bite here.
Amen!
Lots of good stuff- Mark Bulger 22(Rams) and Jake Delhomme 29( Panthers )- teammates in NOLA prior did it in 04', & to take it a step further Aaron Brooks had 21 for the Saints that same year. So that's three out of the same QB room who threw for 20 or more in same season.
Replying to @Endzone51 @RandyMueller_
Carson Palmer and Ryan Fitzpatrick also did that in both 2012 and 2015 after being teammates in CIN.
Okay, I'll stop now.
Because there are definitely a lot more examples than I expected.
