I think @andyburnham is making a political point with the tariff cuts on 100 goods.
The Treasury estimates they could save households about 40p a week.
LSE research estimated Brexit trade barriers pushed food prices up by around 6%—equivalent to roughly £4 a week
So he'll say that outside the EU it's 40p a week saved
But inside the EU it'll be £4 a week saved
Of course this is just a guess and I'm probably wrong, still I quite like the framing #RejoinEU

Raskin: "When historians look back on this miserable period of our history, they might say that the first problem was disregarding all those women who told us back in 2016 that they had been sexually harassed or assaulted by Donald Trump. But he got elected even after he was adjudicated civilly responsible for sexually attacking E Jean Carroll"

We've had enough of budgets that tinker around the edges. It's time for fundamental, transformative change.
Ahead of tomorrow's budget, I have written to the Chancellor to urge him to take on vested interests, end the failure of privatisation and tax the rich.
Chatham House expert Yossi Mekelberg 🗣️ "The figures suggest there is the possibility for a change in government here."
Israeli political analyst Dahlia Scheindlin 🗣️ "I just want to emphasise how preliminary this all is."

NEWS. Pre-budget announcements just out.
1. Mileage rate for work the existing rise from 45p to 55p under 10,000 miles to be made permanent. Rate for 10,000+ to rise from 25p to 35p (im guessing from April, I need to confirm). So this means you get this amount tax free for work or self-employed.
2. Parental pay to be extended to self-employed dads and partners who have previously missed out
3. Ending the Carer’s Allowance cliff edge (video explaining in prior post)
Also announcements on food tariffs, Post office drop boxes and likely new Warm Home Loans scheme (more details to come on that tomorrow).

🚨🇮🇱 BREAKING: Gadi Eisenkot says the exit poll would mean a “complete victory” for his bloc
He says he will “act immediately” to replace Netanyahu’s government
"Netanyahu's Likud party may have secured the most seats, but Eisenkot is best placed to form a coalition."
Sky's @adamparsons explains Benjamin Netanyahu will remain in power for at least the next six weeks until the creation of a governing coalition.

If it was so simple…..
Benjamin Netanyahu: 53 seats
Gadi Eisenkot: 67 seats
Netanyahu’s party loses the Israeli election.
@grok , verify this.

Israeli electorate have given their verdict on “Mr Security” Netanyahu- and it’s a clear rejection.
If exit polls hold, the Israeli public rendered a clear verdict on Netanyahu’s coalition, dropping them from 64 to about 50 seats. He has no path to a government. Eizenkot’s bloc does, working with the Arab parties who appear likely to receive a record 17-18 seats. Israeli democracy has created this important opportunity for change.

BREAKING: Israeli elections have ended and the exit polls are in. All three Israeli channels have Netanyahu's bloc at 50. Eisenkot's bloc is at 52 or 53. The Arab parties are at 17 or 18, the most seats they have ever won.
Likud finished first with 24 or 25. Yashar is second with 21 to 23. Bennett has 12 to 14.
Nobody has 61. Netanyahu cannot form a government without Bennett, and Eisenkot cannot form one without either Bennett or the Arab parties. Israel had the highest turnout in its history today, and the country is still split down the middle.
The coalition bloc led by Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar party is projected to win more total seats than Benjamin Netanyahu's coalition group, according to an exit poll by broadcaster Channel 11.
Sky's Middle East correspondent @adamparsons looks at what the exit polls tell us - with the Arab parties left as potential kingmakers.
